Happy Colours and a Pajama Reprieve

Colleague Camille praised my "happy colours" today.
This pajama jacked earned a reprieve - I'd been eyeing it for Limbo for a while.

  • Jacket - H&M, consignment; last worn here (2nd outfit) in June 2023 for lunch with Mom
  • Silk top - no label, thrifted, not tracked
  • Linen trousers - Zara, thrifted; last seen here in May 2023 with an overly puffy blouse (which I sold)
  • Shoes - Sole Talk Lenora, Fluevog; last worn here in September 2023 for a Mom-Day at Bowker Creek

When I look at the jacket, my brain seizes up with the urge to fully match the rest of my outfit to it.
I played around in my closet last night, trying out different things.

I've had it since 2018 - 6 years! I picked it up at now-closed Duke & Duchess consignment for $22.00. This is my 8th outfit, so very good cost-per wear of  $2.75.
I've never worn it with my red linen Boss Pants, which surprised me. I really liked the swooshy, louche vibe.

Unfortunately, they are starting to fall apart - they're literally coming apart at the seams! I've been looking for an Upgrade for years but I've never quite found a better pair of wide-legged red pants.
I have to be careful not to do any deep knee-bends when I'm wearing them.

I puzzled over what top to wear - white? pink? black? - and then pulled out this little silk sleeveless top.
Bright orange for the win!

Incognito.
Boss stance.

The stuff:
These orange/white/blue/lilac/lavender shoes are another thing that my brain tells me I must match - I just treated them like orange bookends in this case.

Minimal bling:
I let the happy colours do the talking.

  • Earrings - vintage fair
  • Steel/Lucite ring - Calvin Klein, thrifted
  • Silver/stone ring - consignment, Sidney

  1. Yes to the outfit, so vibrant! However, it’s the shoes that get my biggest WOW; not only for the colors but they also look comfortable! I could see myself strutting about in them all through the summer.

Ah, I understand your concern for the wide leg pant seams. That happened to a much loved black linen skirt and - oh gosh - years ago it did split on a seam while I was at work! Thankfully I was wearing a cardigan with it so I took the sweater off and tied the sleeves around my waist. Whew!

Alas, I’ve never found a replacement that was the same length or fit. :( Here’s hoping you eventually find a pair of pants of equal quality, fit and color to your red linen Boss Pants.
    Cheers, Laurie

    1. Thanks, Laurie! They shoes really ARE that comfortable! So squishy!

I know, I often wear something that could cover me up if the seams blows while wearing them (it's a crotch seam, so classy, ha ha). Here's to finding replacements/upgrades for our linen!

  2. Here's another big fan of your outfit! Red and orange is a very uplifting combo and both the jacket and shoes are absolutely perfect. I'm hoping the former doesn't end up in Limbo again :-) xxx

  3. Wow Sheila, I’ve combined orange and hot pink in the past but not orange and red; you make it look great! So glad you got that jacket out of limbo, I’d never have picked it as PJs if you hadn’t told us. Thanks for yet another inspirational outfit.

    1. Thanks so much, Leanne! I love orange and red together - I've been wearing it a lot lately! The jacket is not ACTUALLY pajamas...just in that style. I have called it the Pajama Jacket since I got it, I think!
