Lime and Cobalt, Soothing Brights

Today's outfit comes about because I thought, "I'll need an easy dress to wear after a late Book Club." It wasn't that late, but I still had the outfit ready to go.
This was utterly comfortable, and also very snuggly and warm, as the temps continue to hover around 1-2 degrees.

  • Wool cardigan - Ports, vintage 80s, consignment; last worn here in June 2024 for a Mom-Day at Colquitz Creek
  • Dress - Zara, consignment; first seen here in April 2024 with white accessories
  • Shoes - Big Presence Desmond, Fluevog; last worn here (3rd outfit) in December 2024 for my office holiday party
  • Wool/cashmere coat (below) - Sarmite Wearable Art, consignment; last seen here in December 2024 for our trip to Powell River

Foggy view of the Castle.
The fog lifted quickly. There was frost on the ground.

Some people can't handle wearing bold colours like this.
But I have zero issues with brights - this is Colour Therapy for me.

My wonderful 100% wool cobalt blue 80s cardigan has been a favourite in my closet since 2018.
Pockets! It's such a deep blue - my eyes just eat it up.

The moths have never gotten to it.
Shhh...mustn't curse it.

This lime green dress is so fun - I like how twisty it is.
It looks atrocious when not belted - it has all kinds of odd folds and drapes.

Big hat!
As I walked home, I looked down on the lime green peeking out from under the blue...with that bright pink? Such a soothing bunch of brights.

Accoutrements:
I buried my face in the fur scarf on the way home. Brr!

  • Hat - M&S, consignment, Powell River
  • Fur scarf - thrifted
  • Leather gloves - Roeckl, consignment

The stuff:
These shoes LOOK high, but they are actually fine for walking around the office.

Brutalist bling:
The belt says, "Stand firm with the belt of truth."

  • Rohesia Belt - Fluevog; last worn here (2nd outfit) in November 2024, to the Fluevog Sample Sale
  • Pewter/gold bracelet/pewter cuff - Robert Larin, vintage 70s, vintage mall, gifts from L
  • Volcano ring - vintage 70s, Mom's
  • Hematite ring - thrifted
  • Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes
  • Square ring - thrifted
  • Earrings - vintage mall

Some pictures I took last night.
"I'm helping!"

Trying to blog before leaving for Book Club.

The best house in the neighbourhood.
These lights change colour!

Peeking into the window of a closed store.
That tulip lamp is lovely!

On my way home, I noticed a little house on the front step.
Hey, someone's in there!

She came out to visit. Hello!
"I grant you safe passage."

The password is a scritch on the head and a rub on the cheek.

No Mom-Day tomorrow, my friends, as I have to prep my Limbo pile for the closet sale this weekend. I'll be back on Sunday with tales of adventure, so please do stop by! Thanks so much for visiting and reading - I so appreciate it.

Oh wow, the cat house is a great idea and somebody both loves and trusts their cat to provide such a cozy outdoor abode. I enjoyed tagging along on your walk.. :-)
Here's to prepping the Limbo pile for the closet sale. Whenever you do that I have vicarious thoughts of hopping on a plane just to peruse the sale!!!!
Hi Helen, since we won't 'see' you tomorrow!

Ha, yes, he's quite the prolific writer. ;-P
Isn't that the sweetest thing? It had its own set of blinking lights too.
I might take a video of everything, just so you can have a look.
Mom will appreciate that, thank you! <3
