Blue Suede and Red Plaid, and Two Shoes

Tonight is Book Club, so let's see if I can bang this out quickly.
Woo! That's a lot of bright colour!

  • Wool jacket - Simon Chang, vintage 80s, thrifted; last worn here in December 2023 for a day out shopping
  • Wool-blend sweater - Intimates, vintage 60s, thrifted; last seen here in March 2023 with blue and brown
  • Suede trousers - Neto, vintage 90s, thrifted; first worn here in October 2024 with mustard and a Darth vest
  • Boots - Prepare 2.0 Tracker, Fluevog; last seen here (3rd outfit) with a sparkly vintage dress in December 2024
  • Sneakers (below) - Soul Speed Duesy, Fluevog; last seen here (2nd outfit) in October with red leopard and skulls
  • Suede coat (below) - Tadmor, vintage 70s, vintage mall; last worn here in December 2024

The eagle-eyed among you will have noticed that I list two pairs of shoes in the above "last seen" list - I changed to red sneakers to walk to/from Cat's place.
I layered a vintage camisole, then a wool-blend mock neck sweater, and THEN this 100% wool woven plaid jacket.

I was rather sweaty on top, but not like the PVC Incident of last week with the orange suit.
The trousers are indeed blue suede and they are LUXE to wear, very soft. No pockets, of course! (exasperated sigh).

Take a moment to appreciate how nicely all the plaid lines up. Several of my colleagues admired it.
The pant legs are split on the inside, and are quite long, so I have to wear a heel, a very chunky shoe or a platform.

Blue Suede Lady!
I liked the pops of red, and what a good match this suede coat is with the pants.

Accoutrements:
I love these big hats! Thanks and gratitude to Vix for the inspiration!

  • Hat - thrifted, Sidney
  • Silk scarf - Halston, vintage 70s, thrifted
  • Wool gloves - Parkhurst

The stuff, part 1:
Solid boots, good for going up and down ladders and striding about Like I Own the Place.

The stuff, part 2:
Bigass bold sneakers for hoofing it through our neighbourhood.

  • Belt - Karen Millen, thrifted
  • Necklace - Lalique, vintage 00s, vintage fair, gift from L
  • Birds/red eelskin hinged bangle - vintage 80s, consignment
  • Black eelskin hinged bangle - vintage 80s, thrifted
  • Silver/red enamel ring - antique shop, Sidney
  • Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes
  • Earrings - Betsey Johnson, swap from Cat

And here I am, ready to put my coat on and dash off!
Heh, the shoes are really atrocious, aren't they? They're so ugly, but I love them!

  1. What a joyful splash of colour you are on a miserable Wednesday morning, Sheila.
The trousers and coat are such a great match its like you're wearing a vintage trouser suit.
Thanks for the shout out! I love my giant hats, they always get all the attention! xxx

    1. Yeah, I'm really trying to do colour as armour this week, Vix! Our sunshine has disappeared, only to be replaced by grey grey grey.
I loved how the coat/pants matched too! Must do that again!
Any time - I love mine too! Although they are not as ginormous as yours. <3

  2. Thank you for the splash of bright colour, I could definitely do with it today!
That is one perfect outfit, by the way. Loving both pairs of shoes, and I think I need some bigass red trainers like that (no white soles, you see :-)) xxx
