Heavy Metal Monday

Fact: I used to be a metal chick back in the late 80s/early 90s. It felt appropriate that I do a lot of metal in today's outfit.
Of course, I had to wear my new-to-me skirt with 2% metal content. More metal!

  • Jacket - Le Chateau, consignment; last seen here in February with "I Know" shoes
  • Top (underneath) - no longer tracked
  • Skirt - Studio J, thrifted; purchased here on the weekend for $15.95
  • Shoes - Big Presence Desmond, Fluevog; last worn here (2nd outfit) in January with mint green and copper
  • Coat (below) - Hilary Radley, thrifted

This lovely cream brocade blazer has been a favourite for at least 5 years.

First wearing of this skirt. I layered a black half-slip under it as it's unlined.
It wrinkled up a bit in the bum from sitting (that metal, no doubt!), but was otherwise lovely to wear.

Outerwear:
We woke up to...SNOW again today! Wah! It's all gone now, though, and the streets are dry and the sky is blue. My usual "wear the warmest of everything" mix of Danier fur toque/scarf and leather gloves.

The stuff:
I don't have yellowy-gold shoes (this is an egregious oversight, obviously), so these copper/rose-gold ones had to do. Oh, such a tough life.

Gold bling:
A mix of thrifted stuff, mostly.

  • Belt - thrifted
  • Metal cuff - Trifari, vintage 80s, thrifted
  • Leather/chain wrist-wrap - local
  • Necklace - Givenchy, vintage 80s, vintage fair
  • Earrings - vintage 80s, thrifted

It is clear to me now that we all must have " I know" shoes.

  5. Great idea to tie in these wonderful rose gold shoes with your new skirt Sheila! I love that belt too and how it makes your waist look so teeny-weeny.
