Ready for Spring Chic(ken)

That's it. I am done with winter. Bring on spring! Maybe if I wear enough zingy bright colours and patterns, I can make it happen. What do you think?
Colour, pattern, texture, shine! You should see the sweater in person - it's even more neon/acid yellow!

  • Sweater - Vero Moda, thrifted; purchased here for $12.99
  • Blouse (underneath) - Tommy Hilfiger, thrifted; last worn here in November 2016 with some corporate purple
  • Leather slip-dress - Danier Leather, vintage 90s; last seen here (3rd outfit) in November 2016 with a striped cardi for weekend shopping
  • Shoes - Miista, thrifted; purchased here same day as the sweater, here for $27.99
  • Coat (below) - Danier Leather, consignment

I loved this fuzzy sweater, but it's not the most flattering thing I own. However, "flattering" is not always at the top of my priority list. Zany, silly, artsy, comfy, soft and snuggly...those are!

I spread my "it's almost spring!" cheer about the office.
I might have referred to myself as a chicken. I might have clucked (I do a very good chicken noise).
Because acting it out is always fun! I am a silly person.

I hear that the 90s are now considered vintage! I am not quite ready for that. I had a hard enough time dealing with the 80s being declared vintage. Here's the outfit without the shoes, necklace and sweater - the dress is "vintage 90s" and I usually call it my Buffy dress, since this slip-dress style (which is back in fashon!) reminds me of a certain Slayer of the Vampyres, heh.
"Look away while I attack your shoelaces."
Two months to go in my seasonal wardrobe, and the closet is starting to get messy and crowded. I've been getting rid of pieces here and there.

Outerwear:
I don't think I have enough colour on, hee hee. Angora thrifted scarf and gloves in bright pink with a purple consignment wool beret. Oui, oui!

The stuff:
Freakin' awesome is how I would describe these shoes. Loved wearing them all day. Thank you to their previous owner who broke in that patent leather! They were perfect.

Bright bling:
Jell-O shot necklace!

  • Necklace - Banana Republic, consignment
  • Earrings - local
  • Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes

Vizzini and I had a cuddle here this morning:
"It's cozy enough, I suppose."
No, he never blinks. Always staring with his big eyes.

  3. Bring it on.....spring, that is.....loving your neon yellow fluffy jumper and the tights (or hose? We call them tights). Vizzini looks a real character with his big eyes. You noticed how Molly is always photo bombing my shots!

    1. Thanks, Gail! Tights are thicker, nylons are sheer - they all get grouped as "hose" or "hosiery" here as "things you wear on your legs."

  7. You definitely look like Spring, Sheila! The shoes are gorgeous and I love your tights. How can the 90s be vintage? It was only yesterday! Love your pink and purple outerwear with the jacket, too.

  9. Brilliant zany outfit today Sheila! I have a couple of fluffy jumpers too and even though they do nothing to flatter the figure they're fun and cosy which is all that matters.

    1. I do like my crazy outfits, hee hee. Sometimes flattering is not the be-all and end-all.

  10. Here, chick, chick, chick! Love that leather dress - I have a strapless red one that I have used as a layering piece, both underneath and on top. The tights are so pretty!
