Glitter Skirt!

Turquoise wrap t-shirt (Esprit), black cami (Inwear, Dots), black leather belt (Plum), grey lace embroidered bubble skirt (KenzieGirl, Dots), turquoise "python" t-strap shoes (Jeffrey Campbell, Spank), silver double spiral earrings.
I adore this skirt. It was a one-of-a-kind at Dots and I snapped it up a little over a year ago, regardless that I had nothing to wear with it at the time. Since then, I've filled my wardrobe in considerably, but I still don't wear it to work that often, as the sparkliness is sometimes a bit much. A close-up of the fabric:
It's quite a stiff lace, which gives the skirt good shape. It also has nice deep pockets and sits pretty low on my hips - helps keep the length appropriate for work.

I thought it went well with the shoes (at the mall at lunch today, the salesladies seemed impressed that I was all "matchy"). Sadly, the cap on the left heel disappeared, so these go into the pile of winter shoes that need to go to the shoe repair shop for new heels. Won't be seeing these for a while.

New Shoes! Purple and Grey

I bought 4 pairs of shoes in Vancouver, so this week, I will showcase (shoecase?) all of them in an outfit.

Black short-sleeved cardigan (Vero Moda, Plum), purple ruffle-front sleeveless blouse (Esprit), silver leather belt (The Bay), grey pants (consignment), purple shoe/booties (Bronx, Aldo outlet), faux rhinestone studs.
Again, another kind of "eh" outfit - this is what I get for not testing out a new combination. But what can I say? I never feel like thinking about work on a Sunday night or on a Monday morning. I wear what ends up in the knapsack and this is it.

The belt is not right, but I was sorely lacking in accessories, oh well. The shoes, close up:
I am such a dunce. Ruth has these shoes! She's only worn them to work once, maybe twice. Can I help it that they are such cute shoes?? They will look so cute with tights and a skirt too. Pretty comfy, although my feet got sweaty during the day. Only $40 at Aldo outlet!

Some Hallowe'en Figures - Pumpkin Head and Jack's Lament

Two of my figures that I did in the last year were Hallowe'en themed. This one is Pumpkin Head. He will go in the graveyard of our Christmas village this year. Yes, we have a graveyard in our Christmas village, doesn't everyone?

This is one of the first figures I did with the floor polish method of mixing it in with the paints to allow more controlled detail work. A shot of the back:

And this one reminded me of Jack Skellington in the "The Nightmare Before Christmas" (one of my favourite movies of all time), so I painted the guy to match Jack's pinstripe suit. Very tricky to get that right. Front and side views:Jack will also go in the Christmas graveyard (it also has werewolves and vampires, and this year will have a church with nuns!).

That's a skull he's looking at - having a little "Alas, poor Yorrick" moment.
