St. Patrick's Day Teal

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I'm aware of an Irish grandmother on my Dad's side so I always wear some green on the day.
I leaned more into the teal than the green, giving me the opportunity to wear this lovely Desigual coat at last.

  • Coat - Desigual; last worn here (2nd outfit) in February 2024 with the same blouse and shoes!
  • Blouse - Nygard, consignment; last seen here in November 2024 with a plaid skirt and leather jacket
  • Suede skirt - Guillaume, vintage 90s, consignment, Powell River; last worn here in February for Pink Shirt Day
  • Shoes - Chanii B; last seen here in January with aqua leopard

I bought this coat in 2011 to celebrate getting my current job - my anniversary was this week.
Where the heck has the time gone?

I wore the coat all day, as it was a little chilly in the office.
It's such a spectacular piece, but I let it down in front - this is too much dark.

The back is stunning.
So pretty!

Without the coat and this confirms it. This blouse is out - it's just too boring and blah. I have better tops.
I liked the skirt, a very comfy suede.

Done up. I popped a button - it's in my pocket - so I only did the coat up to mid-chest.
The pockets are just big enough for a phone and keys.

Incognito.
It wasn't rainy but it was chilly in the morning.

Accoutrements:
This massive scarf kept my chest warm.

  • Scarf - Givenchy, consignment, gift from L
  • Wool gloves - Parkhurst

The stuff:
Sneaking in another wearing of these lovely teal shoes. They've been worn with the Desigual coat many times - they're old friends.

Minimal bling:
I missed a belt and a necklace. Oh well, moving on.

  • Beetle brooch - Le Chateau, 2005ish
  • Silver/kyanite ring - consignment
  • Fulvia Ring/lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes
  • Earrings - thrifted, Seattle

  1. Agree with all your assessments. :) The Desigual coat is perfect! The blouse, eh. Not much by color or umph. Lovely skirt. Love the shoes!

Tomorrow morning (Wednesday) we head west to Seattle for a few days with Robin and then to Olympia! In all our years visiting him we have never explored much of Seattle. Despite any rain hoping to see cherry blossoms and eager to visit the Chihuly museum. I am using the packing list you helped me with years ago. Easy peasy packing for a carry-on plus we will have access to laundry in Olympia. I keep reciting: less is more. ;)
    Cheers, Laurie

    1. Yeah, I kind of knew that the blouse wasn't going to work, but sometimes you just have to give things another shot to make sure.

Oh, that's so exciting! I'll be waving at you!! Give my best to Robin and have a great time in Seattle! You'll see cherry blossoms very soon - they are nearly ready to burst open, so I hope that happens while you're visiting. Good luck with your packing!

    2. We made it! Cherry blossoms are part of our plan for tomorrow (Thursday) - Robin said the University of Washington is known for their display. And we didn’t have any rain today! Woohoo!

    3. I hope you saw lots of blooms at U-Dub, Laurie! I am betting you've had some rain off and on, though! :D

  2. What a gorgeous coat! I can see what you mean about the blouse, but it is a lovely color. Those shoes…love a good t-strap! Still haven’t tried Fluevogs, but I will some day. Happy anniversary on your job! Doesn’t it feel like 2011 was just yesterday?

    1. Thanks, Marsha! Yeah, I'm over blouses, in general - it was good while it lasted. These are not Fluevogs, BTW. Time flies, eh!

  3. I'm hearing you on the blouse, but the skirt, shoes and magnificent coat more than make up for it. Also, that beetle brooch is gorgeous! xxx P.S. Happy job anniversary! I celebrated my 30th back in February. Eek!

    1. The blouse was useful for a while, but I'm more apt to wear a stretchy top or sweater vs. a blouse, Ann. Thank you!! Wow, 30 years! Well done!

  5. Happy Jobiversary! That's a proper achievement.
Desigual's coats were fab - I remember Liz (who is half Irish) nearly bankrupting herself with one back in the 1990s - she's still got it. That's a cracking outfit and the beetle brooch is a beaut! xxx

    1. It's...a lot of years, Vix! Thanks!
Yes, their old stuff was gorgeous! I still have a dress from 2010 (it's too tight now, sigh) and another coat plus this one.
