Tweed, Floral and Daffodil Docs

Welcome back, my friends! Today's outfit fell together naturally, right down to the daffodil yellow Doc Marten boots.
I loved the Fall Meets Spring mix of colours, centered around this newly-thrifted skirt.

  • Jacket - Julie Haus, Fall 2011 RTW Collection, thrifted; last worn here in December 2013 with a folded skirt
  • Skirt - Akris Punto, thrifted; purchased here for $14.95
  • Boots - Doc Martens; last worn here in February on a Mental Health Shop
  • Ultrasuede coat (below) - Halston, vintage 70s, consignment, Sidney; last seen here in January

I was tickled at how well it went with this asymmetrical tweed and wool jacket.
Dig those funky lapels! I pinned two of my mink brooches on for extra fuzzy goodness.

I am wearing a mustard cami under this, to keep my cleavage zone under control.
I loved wearing the skirt, although it wrinkles and spun while walking to and from work. That's okay, I can live with that.

The jacket has such nice detail.
I didn't realize that the pattern on the back is matching, side to side! Nice.

Wholly inadequate pockets. My work phone clattered out onto the floor whenever I bent over.
My coworkers liked the casual vibe of the boots. They are the perfect shade of yellow!

Incognito!
This is likely the last wearing of my Halston for the season.

I did like being snuggly in the morning.
It's still chilly then.

Accoutrements:
This scarf was a good purchase - I like the colourful fruit in the middle.

  • Silk scarf - Pierre Balmain, vintage, consignment
  • Velour gloves - Principles, vintage 90s, thrifted

The stuff:
I was feeling wiped out all day, the aftereffects of my periodontist trip, and couldn't face a heel. I walked to and from work in these.

Mink bling:
It's a mix of boho and delicate.

  • Mink rose brooch - thrifted
  • Mink/fake pearl brooch  - vintage, thrifted
  • Bone/stone/brass cuff - consignment
  • Stone bangle - consignment
  • Pearl pendant necklace - thrifted; purchased here for $15.00
  • Brass leopard ring - thrifted
  • Feather ring - Fossil, thrifted
  • Pearl earrings - thrifted

I knotted the chain of the pearl necklace to pull it up higher.

Someone was all up in my face and attacking the camera strap while I tried to upload my pictures.
"I'm demonstrating how hungry I am!"

Oh, I can tell, little monster!

  1. A classy comfort outfit with style! Yes, the colors blending from winter to spring, as well as the patterns…I’d wear this in a heartbeat! When you come home from work and aren’t going out again do you always change to ‘around the house’ clothes? I always smile at how Vizzini can ‘talk’ without speaking. ;)
    Cheers, Laurie

    1. Thanks, Laurie! Yes, I immediately change out of my work clothes, into my house clothes (I have a small wardrobe of snuggly dresses/leggings for during the week, and slightly dressier outfits for hanging with L on the weekend, like my velour tracksuit).

  3. I love the floral pattern on that skirt- so fabulous! The jacket is fabulous as well. Doc Martens add something special to this look. As you might know, I love Doc Martens! I've had my pair since I was 15 and I still love to wear them.

  4. I'm loving the spring vibes going on in this outfit, Sheila, and you're right: those Doc Martens are the perfect shade of yellow. I do hope you fed Vizzini, the poor guy does look hungry - I know that look, by the way :-) xxx

  5. Bye, bye Halston - will miss you!
The Daffo-docs are such a jolly colour- the leather looks super soft! The jacket looks really pretty even if the pockets are a bit rubbish!x
