Dries and Sleeves

I felt very stylin' today in this outfit - it was a beautiful sunny day, so one more wear out of this bigass sleeved blouse.
Wearing my new-to-me Dries Van Noten skirt today - exciting!

  • Blouse - Hazel, thrifted; last seen here in June with...a black skirt. How creative!
  • Skirt - Dries Van Noten, thrifted; purchased here on the weekend for $29.95
  • Shoes - Calvin Klein; last seen here (3rd outfit) in April with a dotty dress for a party
  • Bomber jacket - Lazy Susan's; last worn here in August over a plethora of colours

I rhymed "Dries" with "sleeves" - I do love a good rhyme.

In case you don't know how to pronounce Dries (or Van Noten, for that matter!), there's no shame in it. This link here (linking 'cause I love) gives the pronunciation of all the designer names. So, now you can look all clever and in-the-know and not call Hermes "her-meez".

To the skirt! This was an amazing skirt to wear, and I made all my coworkers look at how cool it is.
That's a total pirate sash if I ever saw one.

Despite how much I love this top (SLEEVES), it is not super flattering on me. Where the heck are my boobs?
I'll probably keep it (for now), though. I can't resist those ginormous sleeves.

I didn't really need my jacket - I was sweating by the time I'd walked home after my haircut (just a trim).
And no, I didn't walk in these shoes! I am back to my floral Doc Martens (these ones).

The stuff:
I am a little surprised that I haven't worn these all summer, but then I don't like closed shoes as much when it's hot out. These will stay out with my fall/winter clothes.

Simple bling:
No bracelets, just rings and earrings.

  • Earrings - Tania Gleave
  • Hematite ring - thrifted
  • Death Star ring - Soul Flower

I'll be back on Sunday with a Bigass Weekend Wrap-Up! I've got all kinds of events lined up over the next few days, so see you on the flip side!

  5. Wow, what a great outfit! The colour of the shoes is fantastic! I didn't notice the missing boobs until you mentioned it, but yeah they did disappear. However, there are other great things to look at! xo

    1. Thank you! I liked how the bright orangey-red popped the similar tone in the blouse.

  6. Love the skirt, Sheila, it's cool. And the top, well yes, not showcasing the boobage, but still so unusual it's gotta be worth a few more outings eh?

    1. It's been packed away for next spring/summer, so it's safe for now. I prefer clothes not to hide me, though!
