Blue Blah Monday, and the Forgotten Shoes

It was hard rousing myself this morning. Did not want to go to work. Sheila grumpy!
I also didn't like the outfit I'd put together, and it was spitting rain, so I changed everything at the last minute. So there!

  • Sweater - Rachel Roy, consignment; last seen here in August when I also had the blues
  • Pants - H&M, thrifted; last worn here in August with green while my face was frozen
  • Shoes - First; last seen here in August with really wide pants
  • Raincoat (below) - Thermal-Slicks, consignment; purchased here for $35.00

It's not that exciting, but I like all the pieces. The deep indigo blue of the sweater is such a great colour.

The pants feel good and they don't make my bum look too bad.
I felt very devil-may-care in this. Yeah, whatever. I'll book your meeting.

The stuff:
These are one of the oldest pairs of shoes that I own - one day, I'll have to trace their history all the way back and see how many times I've worn them - it's a lot, I'm sure!

Fussy bling:
A little more ornate accessories to make up for the lack of imagination in the outfit!

  • Cuff - St. Paul's Cathedral gift shop
  • Scrolly ring - made and bought in Scotland, 1996
  • Shield ring - Nine West
  • Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes
  • Earrings - gift from Lise

No more sun. This was the view of the Castle from the stairs where I pose.
 Foggy!

I excitedly put on my new-to-me raincoat.
 LOVE it! It's so cute!

I wore my hood up as it was spitting rain on the way to work, but it was all clear by the time I got home.
A solid thumbs up for the coat, though. I predict I'll wear it a lot.

As I was doing my pictures this morning, I noticed something sticking out of my shopping bag from yesterday. Holy smokes, I bought a pair of shoes at the thrift store!
I was keeping those dangly tassels away from Vizzini, so I tucked them into the bag and promptly forgot about them.

Aren't they cute? I'm showing you these horrid, blurry pictures so you can see how they do up around the foot and ankles. They were very tangled when I bought them.
The lace toes are lined and the tips and flatform are jute.

Here's a better look.
Totally cute, but totally summer. These will get packed away, to be brought out next March - brand new-to-me! I'm pretty sure I will completely forget about them over the next 6 months!

I have seen Nanette Lepore clothes, but didn't know she had shoes.
Yes, these were $9.95. These sold for $79.95 CAD.

They are called the Bitsy, and looks like they are from Dec [20]16.
They were in with the size 9-10s (what I wear), and they fit fine, so when I looked at them tonight, I was shocked to see a size 7.5 marked inside them.

And never worn!
I suspect that the sizing is incorrect - ya think??

  1. Oh they are fun shoes, glad you can put them aside for warmer weather! :) I like your matching jumper and shoes with the printed pants too! It's summer-like here at the moment, we kinda skipped spring for a bit! But when it starts to cool off again I'll need to go shopping for more pants for work, it's a definite gap in my wardrobe!

  2. Those espadrilles were a great find for that price ! I did not know she made shoes either. I can already imagine Vizzini chasing you around trying to get his paws on those tassels.
I like your trouser and sweater look for the day.

    1. I think so too - Vizzini was all over them, trying to drag them off. He is incorrigible. Thank you, hon!

  3. Great espadrilles - just don't wear them in the rain! I learned that the hard way...

I loved the cobalt blue shoes and jumper = they totally jazzed up the well fitting trousers. Loved the accessories, too.

There's nothing more useful than a hood on a raincoat I think.

    1. I won't, thanks for the tip! I love the bright blues in the outfit. I know, why don't more raincoats have proper-sized hoods?

  4. I think the espadrilles are for men. Hahaha! I didn't know she made shoes. But great find, they are sweet. I love your line, Sheila grumpy. I love the word grumpy. I must use it again, so perfect for my mood sometimes. I'm glad you made a switcheroo. Take that! you clothes. Love your raincoat.

    1. Yes, they must be men's sizing! That's it! I say "Sheila grumpy" like "Hulk smash!", heh heh. Thanks, Mel!

  5. Sheila grumpy, but also Sheila sleek today. The trousers are a great fit, beautifully emphasised by the ladylike courts (blue/purple - I can see I'll have to check now) - anyhoo, all very chic!

    1. Aw, thank you! The blues are a true indigo blue, just a titch of purple/red tone in it.
