Today was my company's annual "go for a walk" day, and the theme was to wear red (and/or orange). I went with red, with touches of orange in the skirt.
I used to own a lot of red, but I really don't have that much in my spring/summer wardrobe anymore.- Jacket - H&M, consignment; last seen here in June pre-staycation (with this same sweater)
- Sweater - INC, consignment; last worn here in that same outfit (I'm so creative)
- Skirt - Premise, thrifted; last seen here in May (same sweater and shoes, ha!)
- Shoes - Half Truth Veda, Fluevog; last worn here in August with my lark dress
I would normally wear a smaller skirt with this jacket due to the massive shoulders in it, but hey, nothing exceeds like excess, I say! I also ran back and forth along our walk route to make sure people didn't wander into traffic (you never know), so I needed to be really visible.
You couldn't miss me!
A lady at one of the lights downtown said, "What a great outfit!" to me, out of the blue. Don't you just love compliments from strangers?
My jacket always gets a lot of reaction: the shoulders, the ragged fabric sewn into roses. I feel like I'm covered in flowers!
This will be the last wear of the season for this lovely linen skirt, and also for this Gaga-esque jacket (it doesn't fit under coats very well). Say goodbye...for now!
The stuff:
Nothing terribly interesting there. I wore these shoes for the walk - they are so comfy!
Simple bling:
I like round things.
- Earrings - Tania Gleave
- Death Star ring - Soul Flower
- Ring - thrifted
I can see why that lady complimented you .. it is a wonderful outfit Sheila.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lorena!

ReplyDeleteHa! Swoon away, Sasha! Thanks!
Deletei agree with the stranger who complimented you! It's a beautiful outfit and I love the florals in the skirt and on the jacket together, a really nice combination :) You have such a talent for knowing what will work together :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mica! It felt like a bit much, but it still felt like me.
DeleteI'm glad to hear about efforts to encourage people to be more physically active. It's important for our health. I was curious what shoes you were going to wear. Glad these are comfortable.
ReplyDeleteMy company is very big on physical activity, particularly because we are IT workers! These shoes are awesome.
DeleteLovely outfit and I'm really in love with the rose patterned swishy skirt....
ReplyDeleteThank you, Veronica!
DeleteI love the vibrant colors and the volume of both pieces! No, no one could miss you and that is wonderful ! You look fabulous and fun. If I saw you on the street, I would stop to say how much I love your look!

Thanks so much, Elle! If you approve, then I'm sure it's not too much, ha ha!
DeleteWhat a fun outfit! I love the colors on you.
ReplyDeleteThank you, JS!
DeleteI really like the big skirt and huge sleeves - they work because they're both oversized as far as I'm concerned. However, what I think doesn't matter as they're on the way out, but you still looked awsome on their last outing.
