Red Flower Girl

Today was my company's annual "go for a walk" day, and the theme was to wear red (and/or orange). I went with red, with touches of orange in the skirt.
I used to own a lot of red, but I really don't have that much in my spring/summer wardrobe anymore.

  • Jacket - H&M, consignment; last seen here in June pre-staycation (with this same sweater)
  • Sweater - INC, consignment; last worn here in that same outfit (I'm so creative)
  • Skirt - Premise, thrifted; last seen here in May (same sweater and shoes, ha!)
  • Shoes - Half Truth Veda, Fluevog; last worn here in August with my lark dress

I would normally wear a smaller skirt with this jacket due to the massive shoulders in it, but hey, nothing exceeds like excess, I say! I also ran back and forth along our walk route to make sure people didn't wander into traffic (you never know), so I needed to be really visible.

You couldn't miss me!
A lady at one of the lights downtown said, "What a great outfit!" to me, out of the blue. Don't you just love compliments from strangers?

My jacket always gets a lot of reaction: the shoulders, the ragged fabric sewn into roses. I feel like I'm covered in flowers!
This will be the last wear of the season for this lovely linen skirt, and also for this Gaga-esque jacket (it doesn't fit under coats very well). Say goodbye...for now!

The stuff:
Nothing terribly interesting there. I wore these shoes for the walk - they are so comfy!

Simple bling:
I like round things.
  • Earrings - Tania Gleave
  • Death Star ring - Soul Flower
  • Ring - thrifted

  4. I'm glad to hear about efforts to encourage people to be more physically active. It's important for our health. I was curious what shoes you were going to wear. Glad these are comfortable.

  8. I really like the big skirt and huge sleeves - they work because they're both oversized as far as I'm concerned. However, what I think doesn't matter as they're on the way out, but you still looked awsome on their last outing.
