The return of the ruffly skirt! It's also the first wearing of these Hispanita boots in several months.
My khaki jacket over a new-to-me vest:
Showcasing the lovely pin that Steph sent me. Thank you! So funky!

I do love the "lock and load" properties of vests, don't you? This one is a fine-wale cotton corduroy and has sweet little watch pockets on the front. It was $6.50 in a thrift store.

Even though the outfit didn't have a) stripes b) pink or c) hearts aside from this pin, I liked how it pulled the whole ensemble together.
Jacket (RW & Co., consignment), vest (RW & Co., thrifted), sweater top (Trina Turk, consignment), skirt (Dolcezza), boots (Hispanitas, consignment), earrings (Plum), pin (gift from Steph).
I can't wait to wear boots...it is still too hot here...I like your vintage touch!
ReplyDeleteI love vest season! This one is so perfect on you. Love the ruffles too, and the heart from Steph is more than lovely.
ReplyDeleteOooh! I love that vest! You seem to be jumping into the new job with some fabulously "Sheila" outfits. I can't remember if you eased them in at the one before... I'll have to check that out tonight. I'm trying to ease them in at my new place, but I think it's bringing out a bit of rebellion in me. All I've wanted to do all week was add yellow, regardless of what colour, or how many colours I was already wearing!
ReplyDeleteI love this skirt. But you probably knew that already!
ReplyDeleteYay! i love this look, nothing pleases me more than a 'made up suit'. Especially three-piece!! This is wonderful and is exactly along the lines i'd envisioned for the type of look with which you'd wear this pin.
ReplyDelete"Even though the outfit didn't have a) stripes b) pink or c) hearts aside from this pin, I liked how it pulled the whole ensemble together." Seriously, Sheila, this is the type of outfit logic only you can pull off - while putting the rest of us to shame!
that skirt is just killer. (& fyi, i'm writing this comment with a lap full of very floppy kitty - his head is hanging over the side!). Happy Wednesday!! steph
What a marvelous skirt!
ReplyDeleteThat ruffled skirt is really cute!
ReplyDeletePam, it's still a little warm here for the heavier boots - these ones are quite thin.
ReplyDeletePatti, me too - vests are so awesome.
Cara, thank you - yes, I feel like I have my groove back. :) I didn't ease the other office into my looks either, ha! You should wear what you want to wear!
Ally, thanks! I know you love ruffles!
Steph, thank you again. I didn't even think of that; I guess this IS a made-up suit! I'm a big believer in, "It doesn't have to match, it just has to go!" I felt like this outfit was very "you" and therefore the pin was quite fitting with it. Aw, floppy kitties are the best. :)
Thanks, Sal!
Rebecca, thanks!
Oooh how cute. It's sortof cowgirl meets punk meets Sheila's personal flair. Can I say I am crazy for that vest!
ReplyDeleteSorry I'm slow in commenting. I promise I'm still reading up to date, but I've been under the weather.
Very nice, and you're right, the pin pulls it all together very well. I am sticking with outside shots for as long as I can. The light just cannot be beat.
ReplyDeleteNo worries, Megan, I hope you are feeling better! Yes, it's a little cowgirl, hee! I will keep an eye out for vests for you.
ReplyDeleteKristen, thanks! I'm doing my outside shots in the mornings now to catch the light.
