My casual uniform of long-sleeved tee under a graphic tee. Sadly, my birdy shirt is about ready to go into the consignment bag as it's getting a bit worn out. Plus, must make room for new things!
It's been cool in the mornings so I hauled out my boots and knee high socks. By the end of the day, I was still pretty warm, but it's getting to be boot time! I'm so excited.
Red tee (Press), brown tee (Truly, Madly, Deeply, consignment), skirt (Smart Set, consignment), socks (Hue), boots (Aldo, consignment), belt (swap from Ruth).

On Saturday, L and I went out for lunch with Nick and Karen.
I've been wanting to wear this sweater for ages! I bought it in a thrift store months ago, back in mid-June. The weather was sufficiently erratic for me to do summer on my feet and autumn on my top half.
Again with the casual uniform, only with a sweater instead of the graphic tee.
These tapered skinnies are so versatile. I wish they were not so low-waisted, though. I'm always pulling them up!
The sweater is 70% lambswool, 20% angora and 10% nylon (helps hold the shape) and is quite soft and light. The label looks at least a decade old:

And I think $3.25 is a pretty good deal for this sweater.
I went shopping after lunch with Karen - this was actually a really bad clothing and shoe shopping outfit, as it's full of buckles, belt, layers, and I was carrying a coat. There was an insane sale at the Bay: all non-fall season shoes were on for either $19.99 or $29.99. I snagged 2 pairs and am stoked to wear them! I'll be wearing one pair for my birthday party (coming up in a few weeks).

Sweater (Guess Jeans USA, thrifted), tee (Banana Republic, thrifted), jeans (Jackpot, swap from Caro), shoes (Kenneth Cole Reaction), cuffs (Reaction Leather and SkinzNHydz), belt (Shi Studio), buckle (She She Shoes).
Today, I counted on the weather to stay on the sunny side of things, so I went with my sandals, a nice flowy skirt and the same tee as Friday (it was layered, it's still clean!).

It was sunny as I walked to down, then the skies opened up. I spent an hour in another thrift store, shopping as I dried out.
Next weekend, I'm going to pack away all my summer stuff and make room for the winter things in my closet. I also took a bunch of my boots down to the cobbler for new heels! Fall is here!
I'm a sucker for stripes. Gotta say I love the first 2 outfits on you.
ReplyDeleteI like all three of these looks! The top one is my favorite. I packed away some of my summer things on Saturday and sure enough, on Sunday the temps went over 100 and are predicted to stay there into October! I am so tired of the heat and jealous of those of you who get to were cool weather looks already!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the sandals in the second photo! So chic and versatile!
ReplyDeleteSomeday, before I die, I want to go shopping with you. You have such great taste and a nose for bargains. You are on my Bucket List!
ReplyDeleteI like the stockings showing just a tad over the boots! Just the right "touch" to finish the outfit!
ReplyDeleteAnd OH - that skirt! Wowsers.
Love 'em all, as usual! The print on that maxi is dynamite.
ReplyDeleteWonderful fall colors for the weekend Sheila! I love those skinnies. You are a master of shopping - I must visit your town so we can thrift and bargain-hunt one day!
ReplyDeleteLong socks and boots! Will be stealing that look (mwah hah). Fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that first outfit. It looks so comfortable, but still stylish. Score on that sweater. I'm always trying to thrift sweaters, but never really come across good quality ones in good shape in my size. Can't wait to see the new shoes.
ReplyDeleteAlso if Ally is going shopping with you - count me in. Lol! We'll dig through all the sales together someday.
I like your semi-reclining pose!
ReplyDeleteI like the graphic tee. And what a wonderful dilemma to be "trapped" in a thrift store during a downpour.
ReplyDeleteI love the knee socks with the boots! And don't say that you're packing away summer stuff! I'm still pretending!
ReplyDeleteDcresider, thank you so much! I enjoy my casual vibe just as much as my dressy looks.
ReplyDeletePam, thanks! I hope that's what will happen when I pack my stuff away! I could use more sun and less rain.
Kasmira, thanks! They have been indispensable all summer.
Ally, you're on! Let me know if you ever make it out here. :) Aw, I'm on a Bucket List, how cool.
Rebecca, it helps with shorter boots too - keeps the legs from looking stumpy. Thanks!
Sal, thanks!
Patti, thank you! I'd love that! Woo! Let's go shopping!
Secret Squirrel, please do!
Megan, thank you - it's nearly a duplicate of one I've done before. Such an easy look. Sweater thrifting is tricky - I hit a big bonanza of them a couple of months ago, then nothing since. Um, and yeah! We're all in for the shopping!
Thanks, Wendy!
Terri, thank you - ha, it was perfect. I could hear the rain slamming on the skylights...and then the sun came out!
Cara, thanks! Aw, pretend all you want. :)
You know how I love you in the long-sleeves and graphic tees. Such perfect Sheila looks!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kristen!
