Chicken Top and Short Skirt

Today's outfit was totally inappropriate...and appropriate.
Neither reason for either 'propriate is my age, though. F**k that. I'll wear short skirts if I want to. With bare legs! Hide your eyes!

Aging on the brain? Check out Samantha's thoughts at Fake Fabulous, and her link-up for "How to Accept the Fact You're Getting Older". I don't feel old; I feel seasoned.

  • Top - Homage, consignment, Vancouver; last seen here in February with my wallpaper pants
  • Skirt - H&M?, thrifted; purchased here for $14.00
  • Shoes - Chie Mihara; first worn here in May with cranes and lemon leather

No, my outfit was inappropriate due to the weather. This fluffy "chicken" top was inappropriately warm.
Especially because I have to wear a camisole under it to keep it from being see-through. Much sweating by the time I walked home with the sun beating down on me.

The skirt was wholly appropriate...
...due to the weather also. Holy hot flashes! It's suddenly summer out here! I didn't even bother wearing my fishnet nylons.

The extra short slip I wore under the skirt was also inappropriate. Didn't really need the extra layer, or the security it added.
This skirt stayed put admirably, and didn't feel short at all. Plus it has pockets. However, I am putting it into the fall pile, as I think the colours will look great with tights, boots and sweaters. The waist on it is a bit too big, so it sits low...better with a sweatery-type of top.

The stuff:
My legs are aching from the sprinting at Ulti on Saturday, so easy shoes were a must today. These were a dream, once again. Love!

Shiny bling:
All favourite pieces.

  • Bracelet - Lia Sophia, thrifted
  • Earrings - vintage fair
  • Ring - consignment

  1. I love your fluffy chicken top with your new skirt, Sheila! Shame it was too warm though! It is such a great top. I love the colours and print of your skirt and I agree that it would also look great with tights and boots in the cooler months. Your shoes are fab and that's great that they are comfy too. Plus your legs look amazing in this outfit, Sheila! ;) XXX

  2. Loving that chicken top and those fab sandals. Shame about the overheating, though.
Age appropriate? While I've still got breath in my body I'll wear whatever I feel like wearing - we're never going to be this young again! xxx

  3. Even if this wasn't the best outfit for the weather it does look lovely on! And I look forward to seeing that skirt more in the colder weather. I think you should wear what makes you happy no matter age - it is just a number after all! I love that you share that message so brilliantly on your blog!
