Welcome back to our Mom-Day Adventures, gentle readers! Mom and I were so excited to see each other again. Big smiles - all the teeth!
I've had this outfit assembled in my closet for months - since I bought the pink tee - waiting for warmer weather!
The tee is a saturated shade of candy pink, but it's elasticated and cropped at the bottom, so I'll only be wearing it layered under things.
But I liked the pops of pink from it and my shoes.
I matched my lipstick too.
But I know you're agog with my giant jumpsuit.
It's a real CLASSY designer - Jean Charles de Castelbajac. I just spotted the exact same one on a resell site for 405 Euros (just under $600 Canadian).
I paid $37.99 for mine when I spotted it at Flavour Upstairs in 2019 - I've now worn it 7 times.
And yes, it's really a jumpsuit!
The legs are huge, very ABBA-esque.

Mom and I parked near Spinnakers and walked back along the water, then turned around and ended back at the pub for lunch.
We had a glimpse of the harbour as we neared the path.
We had a glorious sunny day, with temps in the low 20s and only a light breeze (it's usually really windy near the water).
Through an arch of arbutus trees.
This was the shadiest spot of our entire walk.

The cruise ship dominated the skyline.
We're a major stop on the route up to Alaska.
It being the middle of tourist season, almost noon, and a lovely day, there were tons of people around.
Not so much wildlife - gaggles of nasty Canada geese all over the place. Move along!

There was a heron on the island in the foreground, on the log on the right. .

Mom and I often paused and watched the goings-on.
We had a good catch-up on all the stuff going on in our lives.
Glimpses of the Olympic Mountains and Hurricane Ridge across the strait. That's the USA!
I spy a tanker/barge in the distance.
We've never walked back this way - we usually start around the corner from that far point.
We've walked over that bridge a few times.
There's "our" gazebo.
It was occupied.
But we just chilled out and enjoyed the break.
I can see myself in Mom's sunglasses.
I'm hungry, let's go for lunch!
There were lots of seaplanes taking off and landing.
What's that shadow near the end of the breakwater?
Another cruise ship!
The tide was low.
We could smell the kelp and salty tang of the ocean.
I am pretty sure that the white blob is a dead jellyfish.
Sea anemones and barnacles in the tide pools.
If you stick your finger in a sea anemone it will close on you!
This crow landed close to us.
Lots of teenager crows around right now.
I spotted this little mama after hearing her loud chirping coming from inside a wild rose hedge.
"Begone!"

I walked back to town.
I spy the Coho Ferry, coming in from Port Angeles, in Washington State.
I popped into Flavour Upstairs and found a couple of things.
A lovely 100% cotton fleecy snap-front jacket in chartreuse-mustard.
A nice waist detail on the back!
I just love that colour.
Made in France!

Agnes B. it's called "Le Petit snap cardigan" and it retails for $230.00 (here, links 'cause I love). I knew that $34.99 was a steal!
As you can see by the internal fleece, this has a bit of age on it - from their site:
The snap cardigan was created by agnès b. in 1979. It was an immediate success and agnès b. continues to develop each year.
Have you heard of her as a designer? About her here - she's still around at 81 years old!
And...I found another piece for my Weird Adidas collection - a tie-front waist-length tee!

That looks like a date to me - December 2018. Not very old.
I saw an old ad from the Hudson's Bay showing it sold out at $24.99.
So not a great savings at $19.99, but hey, I'm supporting a local shop!
