This was the last blouse yet to be worn - that last backward hanger! - and it met my criteria for sun coverage and lightness to deal with the heat.
The long taupe skirt was comfortable for the bus travel and walking.

I had a very small part in this, as I bought Mom some white pens last week. I practically painted them myself, ha ha!
We took advantage of the cooling wind to go for a short walk, just a loop in the trail areas.
We hardly saw a single person.

Mom got her necklace in Spain many years ago with Dad.
We worked on the heron puzzle while we waited for our eggs to boil.

And then we sat on the deck in the shade and ate egg salad bunwiches and veggies. Yum!

That is a very pleasing combination of colours. I have blackberry envy, ours are scrawny, a different type, but we are glad of any that grow in our yard. Your Mom's painting will delight her neighbour, I'm sure. I thought of you yesterday when our breakfast waitress was wearing a tee-shirt with a picture of a glass and a lime wedge with a red skeleton hand with the fingers in the "Rock on" sign!

DeleteIf we're fortunate to live long, inevitably some of our parts start to go. Like ears. Many old people suffer with poor hearing even though we have technology for that. I'm glad your mom got hearing aids. My dad refused to get them for years and we had to shout to communicate. The sane choice to use aids isn't always easy for people to make.
ReplyDeleteYES! Mom and I were talking about this - there's zero shame about getting glasses when you can't see, but somehow, your hearing isn't as important? That's silly. Mom was so excited when we were on her walk: "I hear birds! Was that a bird?"

ReplyDeleteMy mom steadfastly refused to wear her hearing aids, so people had to shout at her, and then she got mad at everyone because we were shouting at her. 😂
This used to aggravate me, but I lost her this morning (23 July) and now I already miss her so much, I’d happily yell at her and have her yell back at me. Everybody, please give your moms extra hugs; you never know when it will be your last chance to hug them. ❤️
