I layered a skirt under this dress! I felt clever.
- Dress - Just Cavalli by Roberto Cavalli, consignment; last worn here (2nd outfit) in September 2025 for brunch with L
- Skirt - Spanner, vintage 90s, thrifted; first seen here in October 2025 to see a concert
- Boots - Matisse, consignment; last worn here in February with safety pins and leopard
- Leather trenchcoat (below) - vintage 70s, thrifted; last seen here a few weeks ago
It was too chilly today to wear this dress on its own.
I love the desert-themed creepy crawlies all over it, and I hadn't worn it yet this season. What to do?
This straight knit skirt changed up the proportions. It's kind of a 1920s vibe, right?
"I'm stretchy!"
Let's not ignore the panther in the room...
What a cuddly boy!
"I see people!"
Sure, buddy.
The stuff:
Minimal bling:
This is the inaugural wearing of the new-to-me earrings - they were not overly heavy. I could feel them swinging, but didn't feel like my EARS were swinging.
I walked to and from work in these boots - that's still a very comfy heel for me - and I'll be walking to and from Book Club tonight.
- Crochet collar - made by me from thrifted vintage wool
- Gloves - Parkhurst

- Stone ring - thrifted
- Bronze ring - P. Sarpaneva, vintage 70s, vintage expo

And I'm off!
I've enlarged the pictures a few times to truly appreciate how the Cavalli dress drapes. It's perfect, with the bottom (third?) having a flounce (hoping that's the proper way to describe it!) And of course the boots and coat match, with the boots and skirt playing into the similar colors in the dress. I love a Sheila matchy-matchy! Glad the earrings worked for you as they are quite unique.
ReplyDeleteHope your weather warms up soon; we've had a few days of glorious 70s but the coming days will bring us lower temps and then back up and then back down…Spring! LOL NOW I know why it's called Spring - because the temps spring up and down like a spring. ;-) (Go ahead and groan, I can't hear you. ;-)) Cheers, Laurie
What a good idea to layer the dress over a skirt that picks up the red in the design. I think Barnabas was doing his stretchy thing in honour of the creepy-crawlies!
