Weekend Wrap-Up: Princess Jellyfish; Blue Sequins and Fringe and a Wee Shop

Welcome back, my friends! We had a quiet weekend, but I still managed to wear a few things.

I had a very floofy Friday - I debuted the Jellyfish skirt! 

I knew I wanted to wear a pair of walking boots with it, and I'd also been eyeing this JPG jacket for another wearing.

• Boots - Aldo, thrifted; last worn here in November 2024 with Halston and a parachute

While searching for a top, I happened across this gorgeously thick orange velour Juicy Couture hoodie.

I didn't wear the jacket at work. 

I liked showing off the leopard arms anyway.

"You are the loveliest jellyfish of all," said colleague Viz (not the cat). 

I had planned to wear the jacket thusly all day, but it was too warm. 

I like it both ways. 

And the hoodie gave me all the pockets I needed. 

The skirt was wonderful - I was careful to lift it when going up stairs or onto buses. I also rolled the waist to pull it up a bit.

I zipped and added a silk scarf and voila! I am Incognito! 

I'm sure the hem of the skirt will get ratty over time, but I can easily trim it if needed.

These boots are great to wear - I'm so glad I had them resoled. I walked to work in them, and then down to the pub after work to say hello to the boys, then back to the bus stop and home.

Vizzini "helped" me get my boots off.

L and I played a board game when he got home, and then we enjoyed a leisurely morning before heading down to John's Place for brunch on Saturday morning. I felt like wearing some blue.

Getting this wonderfully BLUE silk blouse a wearing, and featuring the pailletted skirt for the first time this season.

I absolutely loved wearing this soft silk shirt - I forgot that I'd planned to wear a cami with built-in shoulder pads (the originals are missing from the shirt).

I don't think it made any difference, though. 

This paillette/sequin skirt is so sparkly! One side of the paillettes is blue, the other side is orange. 

It gives it a very "sunset" look. 

I almost always wear orange or blue with it.

Deb at John's was so happy to see us. 

I shook my fringe for her. 

This coat is fun to wear - I need to break it out more! 

It's hard to see here, but the fringe on the arms is trimmed with pony-beads in mixed colours.

After lunch, L had some errands to run. 

I had a quick peek in the Beacon Ave Thrift Shop and a record 15-minute shop at the WIN store.

I was happy to see both stores full of people shopping secondhand!

I showed some restraint and wore a non-blue purse.

The stuff: 

This is the only wearing of these blue velvet boots this year - their use has dwindled to once per season (fall/winter only), which means it is probably time to move them along. But I'm not in a hurry - I still like them, and will try to get one more outfit in before my closet season ends. 

Spiky bling: 

I liked the necklace with the collar points, although the combination was heavy on the silk.

Here's what caught my eye at the Beacon Ave Thrift Shop. 

A lovely striped sweater for L. 

I wonder what it's made of?

Wool! And machine washable, I like that. 

I recognized the wee alligator.

Of course, it's Lacoste. All sweaters were half price, so this was $5.00.

I spotted this chain and pearl in the case. 

I don't think it's real...but there is no mould seam on the pearl, so who knows? 

The metal is not gold, and the jump-rings/fixtures aren't high-end. 

But it's pretty on! 

It was $8.00. I put two arrows where there are remnants of another chain, possibly broken or removed. 

I searched for ages, trying to find that logo. M O? M Q? W Q? Zero results.

I was disappointed that this lovely khaki/red/yellow/black skirt was too big for me.

I love a bold zip and this is a great plaid.

Not sure of the composition...? Hmmm...if only there were some clue.

Wool! 

Tatum & Olivia is one of the local Tangerine Jill ladies (the other went on to do Strawberry Jill) - it's the same factories for all of those labels.

$15.50 is a good deal for this - I'll put this into Limbo for sale, as larger sizes are always in demand.

As noted, WIN was hopping busy on an early Saturday afternoon. I did a quick cruise through shoes, purses, vintage, and skirts before L met up with me. 

Like I was going to leave a pair of suede skinny low-waist shorts behind! These fit me perfectly. 

Designed in Canada, and machine washable! 

Do you think anyone measures out the 1 tsp of dish soap? Tumble dry for an hour? 

Of course, they are Danier. The style is early 00s. 

$28.95 was a good price. I'm excited to wear these...but I am not sure how to style them! Ideas?

I spotted this skirt's interesting pattern and the feel of the textile while I quickly ran my hands through the skirt rack.

I love the colours - the yellow and orange will go with a lot in my closet. 

I knew it! 

97% cotton! 

But I snagged it for the label primarily. Akris Punto is a pricey brand! A jersey pencil skirt on their website retails for $495.00! If I don't keep this, I know I'll be able to recoup my purchase money easily.

$14.95 is a stellar price. Also note that lovely loop/button and the matching lining. Good quality. It fits perfectly, so I'll be wearing it for a while myself first.

This soft chunky sweater had fallen off its hanger. 

Well, hello, aren't you a lovely citrusy shade of orange? I like the short sleeves, wide V neck and scooped hem. 

It has a furry texture and a bit of shine to it.

No label at the neck, which is why it was tagged with a thrift price (vs. boutique). 

It was made in Italy.

And is 40% mohair, 20% wool. I guess the acrylic is the shiny part. 

Only $11.95! 

That's a score! I'll wear this before packing it away for spring/summer.

Vizzini and I had many cuddles all weekend, as naps and chilling out were in the cards. 

"Leave it to me, I'm a pro."

And now, off to spend the rest of the weekend with my two guys! I'm excited for the Oscars!
