Orange You Glad It's Wednesday?

Another easy outfit today - and it was another crazy day at work. It's weirdly cold out now (in addition to the haze), but still sweltering in our house. There is no air movement!
Plenty of movement in this lovely orange/purple/yellow print vintage dress, though. Don't you love the tennis-style skirt?

  • Dress - Sacony, vintage 60s, thrifted; first worn here in July with black accessories
  • Shoes - Gap, thrifted; last seen here in August with one of my vintage circle skirts
  • Jean jacket (below) - Ann Taylor Loft, NYC; last worn here in August with magenta jungle

Not much to it, just a dress and shoes. I'm always surprised that so few women wear dresses for daytime - they're so easy!
It really is like wearing pajamas to work. I feel like I'm cheating.

A coat for coverage, but not really needed today.
A nice shot of my turning-yellow-from-purple bruise, there.

The stuff:
I have a few pairs of wood-soled shoes, and they are more comfy than they look.

Orange bling:
I totally missed this ring in my little "new jewelry to wear" box in my closet! This is its first wear.

  • Ring - thrifted
  • Earrings - vintage expo

  3. That is a beautiful dress and it fits you perfectly! I like where the drop waist hits. I had a striped drop waist dress a while back but it was a jersey material and I don't know if hanging it up to dry was a bad idea, it seemed to stretch out a bit and never quite looked the same. Ended up donating it so someone who wasn't petite could enjoy, but it was fun to try the trend for a while!

    1. Thanks, Mica - I don't always look good in a dropped waist, but this dress is just right. Aw, sorry to hear yours didn't work out, but good for you for donating it right away!

  4. I think this dress is amazing ! I need a dropdown waist dress like this.
Must say it is an odd thing that when I'm out on weekends at the mall, most women are wearing jeans... and its almost an uniform, when a dress is just like you say, so easy and it stands out.

    1. I think you would look great in a dress like this, Lorena. I know, why don't they wear more dresses?

  5. Yes I often wonder why we don't wear dresses more often - so simple. You look fab in yours and the shoes are a fabulous match.

  6. Confession... I'm closely studying your terrific poses here. They're in the Advanced Femininity Class which is a few steps down the road for me.

    1. Go for it! I have these 3 poses down to an art now, but it took a lot of trial and error.

  7. Looks like Etro to me! Love how your tattoo works with the pattern. Love the denim jacket with it to dress it down a bit. Very cool platforms, don't you love the extra height?
So simple to wear dresses; pop one over your head, slide into shoes, and off you go.

    1. Thank you! Patterned dresses have to work with my ink, for sure. I love platforms for exactly that reason. I know, more people should wear dresses!

  8. That is such a great dress - definitely one of my favourites from your closet for the pattern and the silhouette.

  9. What a great idea to colour co-ordinate your dress to your bruise my dear - now that's what they call styling! The dress is cute, great colours (would suit me perfectly) and works beautifully under the denim jacket. Nice bit of midweek dressing!
