Red Lion to the Dentist

I actually go to an orthodontist to have my teeth scaled, since I am a major chicken when it comes to my teeth - I get my whole mouth frozen (plus a happy pill - wee!). Knocking out my front teeth when I was 17 and then dealing with the subsequent root canals and surgery might have had something to do with that.
I always like to wear something flowy to the dentist. Maybe I'm thinking they will be gentler with me if I'm looking softer.

  • Fruital blouse - thrifted, no label; last seen here in August under a strapless dress
  • Dress - Talbots, consignment; purchased here in October for $40
  • Shoes - Wonders Ayers, Fluevog; last seen here in March in a kitty bait outfit

I had a lot of compliments on the dress, particularly the unusual length. It's not a long dress (like, full-length), but it's definitely past midi-length. Maybe that's why I was marked down from $178 to $119 to $89 before being consigned from someone's closet and snagged by me for $40. Score, I say!
Those strings at the back have to go. I'm thinking a pretty little decorative button - I have a tin full of them.

Speaking of buttons, who was being cute as... this morning?
"No one will see this, right?"
Vizinni was positively cuddly!

The stuff:
I struggled with what belt to wear with this - the fruital blouse has so many colours in it, although I usually play off the blues and greens. I didn't want to go all brights, since the dress is rather in-your-face red. I liked the olive shoes with them, so then I  needed a neutral belt.

Leonine stuff:
I'm quite fond of this belt - I originally bought it for L at a Vintage Fair, but it was too small around his hips. Sorry, sweetie, this one's for me.

  • Belt - Pringle of Scotland, Vintage Fair
  • Lapis lazuli ring/Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes
  • Earrings - local

Okay, time for a nap.

  1. Hope all went well at the dentist! :)

I'm still too scared to go after horrible experiences with getting 2 of my wisdom teeth out, and dealing with the aftermath of never healing gums and being fobbed off by the dentist every visit.

I've had friends almost convince me to go, but nope I can't do it! You're braver than I am :)

  2. Very, very lovely look. I adore the lines and colour palette of this flowy, chic outfit. You're not alone, I try to balance style with ease of wear when dressing for all sorts of medical appointments, too.

Big hugs & happy start of November wishes,
    ♥ Jessica
