This is the best the colour is going to get so enjoy! Note how the dress does a knife fold where my lap is here - I played with this all day.

The rains are coming...
I probably won't have a view like this again for a long time.
I layered my lime/blue/turquoise mesh top under the dress - I also have a camisole under that for extra warmth. Single digits!
The dress is a very generous XS and was incredibly comfortable to wear - it stood out from my body and as noted, it made knife-pleats but didn't wrinkle at all. LOVE.
Pockets!
I carried my phone around in my pocket, which dragged the dress off to one side. Mental note: don't do that.
I like the box pleat in the back, which gives the upper part some structure, so it's not so baggy back there.
It makes a slight rustling noise as I walk - it reminds me of the Bark Skirt. Incognito, and part one of my outerwear.

These boots are such a deep rich cobalt blue, but they don't photograph well. Under the office lights, they GLOW.

Cuddly kittens!
There is quite the power struggle between them. Whateley is the bigger, more dominant one.

The cut of that dress is fabulous, it looks so good on you.
ReplyDeleteAwwww, those kirtties snuggling, they're just adorable! xxx
Thanks so much, Vix! I do love a cocoon. I know, I have to hug them and cuddle them constantly!
DeleteLove those velvet boots! So fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThe dress is such a great piece as well.
The statement necklace is gorgeous.
You look great!
The kitties are adorable.
Thanks so much, Ivana!
DeleteOkay, those boots are a total show stopper, Sheila!! X
ReplyDeleteRight? They are stunning in person too.
DeleteThat dress looks fantastic on you, and of course the boots, blue bling and Welsh wool poncho are very much to my liking!
ReplyDeleteBrrr, single digits. We're off to Bruges for a couple of days as from this afternoon, and temps of 15-17°C have been forecasted. It actually feels quite summery ...
And aww, aren't Barnabas and Whateley the cutest. Isn't it wonderful to get to know their different characters! xxx
It feels too soon for single digits, Ann! At this rate, I'm going to have to pull out my winter coats. 15-17 would be amazing, I hope that weather lasts for Bruges.
DeleteThey are so sweet, such good boys, but yes, they are very distinct characters.
I love the strong blue against the more subdued green!
ReplyDeleteWhateley certainly seems to be keeping Barnabas under control in the first pic!
I love all shades of blue and green together, thank you! Yup, Whateley likes to push Barnabas around...but Barnabas ambushes him right back!
Deletegreat outfit! You glow in it!
ReplyDeleteYou've inspired me to wear a similar dress with a stretchy top underneath. Never thought of that!
Those boots are amazing.
Thanks for giving classic vintage woolen stunners like your poncho new love. Such gorgeous quality.
Judith from Ottawa
So good to see you, Judith! Yay! Go for it - this is such an easy formula for basic dresses like this. Vintage coats are the best, and I still have more to wear!
DeleteI am a HUGE fan of the colors in this outfit – the blues and the greens are enticing shades and bold as can be. As simple as the outfit is, I find it interesting to look at, absolutely including your double outer layers. As for your cutie pies, I imagine it is entertaining to watch their personalities emerge and develop. Apparently size isn't everything when it comes to two frisky cats who also love to snuggle and sleep!
ReplyDeleteCheers, Laurie
Thanks, Laurie! These colours make me happy too.
DeleteYes, I'm interested to see what they'll be like post-neutering!
