Corduroy Dress as Duster and Grey Tweed

Another week, and of course, it's a busy one. I started off with the outfit I'd intended to wear last Friday before I changed it up for Diwali.
Only a few weeks of Stair Pics left before it's too dark.

  • Corduroy dress - Today's Woman, vintage 70s, consignment; first seen here in April with profesh pinks
  • Mesh top - Mexx, vintage 90s, thrifted; last worn here in August on our trip to Powell River
  • Tweed trousers - PartTwo, thrifted; last seen here in February with wooly pink
  • Shoes - Sumatra Coffee, Fluevog; last worn here in December 2024 with wine and plaid
  • Tabard - COS, consignment; last seen here in December 2024 under a chartreuse cape

A pretty sunrise this morning on the Castle.
I love the warm glow of the tower window.

I knew when I bought this lined corduroy dress that I wanted to wear it like a duster. Colleague Glenn admired it and was surprised when I told him it was a dress.
I layered it over a mesh patterned top, and then pulled on my comfy lined herringbone tweed trousers (with pockets!).

The dress has pockets too.
The colour is a deep cherry red. It's a very fine-wale corduroy.

Incognito.
I love my tabard! This was actually just right for a cloudy, damp day.

The stuff:
I liked that the red shoelaces matched!

  • Hat - Babaton, consignment
  • Gloves - Roeckl, consignment

Brutalist bling:
I adore this stuff - I know it's not to everyone's taste, but it rings my bell.

  • Square ring - thrifted
  • Volcano ring - vintage 70s, Mom's
  • Hematite ring - thrifted
  • Necklace, both bracelets - Robert Larin, vintage 70s, vintage mall, all gifts from L
  • Earrings - vintage mall

L and I never stop taking pictures of the boys.
"I like this man."

Whateley and Barnabas sleep up here frequently.
"Do we have to get up?"       "Is there food?"

Destroying my curtains.
They've actually been pretty good, although I still need to deal with my lights.

When I got up last night, Whateley took my place on the couch. Hey, buddy, move it!
"No, I don't think so."

This morning when I went to brush my teeth, I found this.
"Oh, hey."    "Uh-oh."

Guys, I have to go work, let use the sink, please.
"My sink now."     "Yeah, what he said."

Little monsters!

  1. In the sink!! Oh my, that is simply adorable and quite hilarious! And is Barnabas trying to comb his whiskers? ;-)
I'm reading your posts in reverse from this current entry to older ones and immediately I noticed your haircut! Yay! Your look says classy and comfortable, and when those two features blend they make for the best outfits.
Cheers, Laurie (having a grand time with grandchildren!)

  2. Great outfit - love, love the colour of the duster. Your kitties are amazing! You are inspiring me to add some fall-ish colour to my mostly black, beige and white wardrobe. I think reddish-burgundy would work!

  4. Those kitten photos have made my morning, look at them taking over the sink, ragging the curtains and looking all sleepy and cute. I love them!
The dress looks superb as a duster coat, the colour is splendid! xxx
