Jammy Dress Two-Fer: Monday Eyes Without A Face; Tuesday Yellow Velvet

And now back to real life, with two Jammy Dresses kicking off the work week.
My "Eyes Without a Face" dress hadn't been worn this season! Quelle horreur!

  • Dress - Little Moon, consignment; last worn here (2nd outfit) in November 2024 to go to a vintage fair
  • Boots - Rockport, thrifted; last seen here in April with a blue velvet Jammy Dress

I didn't need to do anything other than picking my boots, and grabbing some jewelry.
Zero thought involved.

I let the pattern do the work.
It's such a cool dress. I like the up-and-down shape.

Incognito.
Showing off the pockets! This dress stays out all year round.

Accoutrements and stuff:
It's cool in the morning, and scorching hot by afternoon.

  • Silk scarf - Balmain, consignment

Pop of red bling:
I really liked the bits of red with the dress - must do that again.

  • Carved cinnabar bangle - consignment
  • Chain/crystal bracelet - thrifted
  • Wooden Klimt ring - consignment
  • Wooden ring - Dots
  • Silver/amber pinky ring - consignment; purchased here for $22.50
  • Stone ring - thrifted
  • Necklace - D'Orlan, vintage 70s, consignment
  • Ear-balls - Dior, consignment

After working on my weekend post - so many pictures! - so knew I'd need another easy outfit for Tuesday and an office full of people.
The ultimate Jammy Dress - I'm basically invisible in this.

  • Dress - French Connection, consignment; last seen here in March with brown boots
  • Boots - Coffee Kope Tiam, Fluevog, 2011; last worn here in April with a crinkly skirt and dino bomber

Another day with a wild change in temperatures.
I was warm enough walking briskly in the morning.

And it wasn't too heavy for the burning sun on the way home.
It's a gorgeous textile, a very soft, silky velvet. The light "petals" are actually sheer yellow.

"And now, Axl Rose," I joked to Glenn and Carol as I tied my scarf on at the end of the day.
It's now time for me to get out the nylons, after a couple of months of bare legs.

Accoutrements and stuff:
These boots felt a little high but I didn't do much walking in them. They're still good for the office.

  • Silk scarf - Echo, thrifted

Brutalist bling:
I'm starting to long for my fall things, including my pewter Brutalist pieces.

  • Gold bangle - thrifted
  • Eelskin bangle - fake Gucci, vintage 90s, gift from Mom & Dad
  • Silver/amber pinky ring - consignment
  • Stone ring - thrifted
  • Crystal ring - Uffizi Gallery gift shop, Florence, Italy
  • Wooden ring - Dots
  • Earrings - vintage mall
  • Gold-plated pewter necklace - Robert Larin, vintage 70s, consignment, gift from L

Only a couple of weeks to go!

  1. You look great. The pattern truly defines the entire style. Beautiful jewelry.
Best regards, and I invite you to see my new painting :)

  2. I love that French Connection yellow dress. It causes your hair color to absolutely pop! Love how you styled it; some jewelry would either compete too much or be lost to the pattern, but the necklace you chose totally enhances and makes the combo “greater than just the sum of its parts”. The mark of a great stylist!!! Rock on, Sheila:-)

    1. I do too - it's so pretty and tactile, but the window for wearing it is really narrow due to the velvet. Aw, thanks, Rita! I didn't want the jewelry to compete or be lost, so happy to hear I succeeded!

  3. You're definitely not invisible in either of those fabulous jammy dresses, Sheila. I can't possibly choose a favourite but the Eyes without a Face one worn with those tall boots comes very close. Oh, and I've been wearing nylons too these last couple of days! xxx

    1. I love both of them - they're both so lovely, but my heart does belong to the yellow velvet dress. The sleeeeeeves!

  4. Me too! It's the yellow velvet dress hands down as I like the fall colors and, unusual for me, the wide billowy sleeves. Chuckling because as someone who always notices your jewelry, I barely noticed any of it with your "Eyes Without a Face" dress! As a fan of red, was glad to have the red bracelet pop out in the accessories photo.
May you recoup your energy and may the rest of this week prove relaxing!
Appreciating "palette cleanser" as you used it in your reply to my previous comment.

    1. I love this dress so much - it's a gem to wear. Ha, that's funny that the jewelry just faded away for you, Laurie! Agreed, that bit of red makes it.
It felt like a very long week, to be sure.

  6. I love both of these looks. It's so cool how you just let the dress pattern do the work, and the red accessories with the first outfit are absolutely brilliant. That yellow velvet dress is so dreamy. I can totally see why you call it the "ultimate Jammy Dress" because it just looks so comfy and chic.

  7. I like bothe dresses. The Moon one with the brown boots looks so cool. But if it was hot in the afternoon, weren't the boots and tights too warm? I always find it so difficult to dress with such fluctuating temperatures.

    1. I walk home in sneakers, so no boots on (and I'm indoors in AC all day in the office), and the tights were not hot at all. Thanks, Greetje!

  8. Goodness, both of those dresses are absolute stunners- those patterns are just complete by themselves! So pretty!
