Sheer Layers and Rock Necklace

Another week, and exciting things (of the furry variety) are in the works! I'll share when I have something concrete (and hopefully feline).
Wearing this new sheer nylon dress under a sweater and over a skirt. How novel!

  • Sheer nylon dress - Cover Me, consignment; purchased here for $18.00
  • Cotton loose-knit sweater - Nor, thrifted; last worn here (3rd outfit) in September 2024 with fancy Calvin Klein pants
  • Skirt - Monari, thrifted; last seen here (3rd outfit) in April 2024 with blues
  • Shoes - Big Presence Desmond, Fluevog, consignment; last worn here in April with a sequined phoenix

So many layers! So let's dissect them. First, I have on a cream silk camisole, which you can tell because my boobs are glowing (it's time to do laundry - I've run out of dark camis).
Then the dress over that...and this cotton sweater over that! I am shocked that's it's been a year since I last wore this sweater. It's a nice open knit and I like the length.

I pulled on my sporty shorts under the dress, then this floral pencil skirt over the shorts.
I did bare legs, as it was a lovely sunny day.

This skirt is sorely neglected in my closet, and you know that tells me...
...off to Limbo with it! I really don't wear a lot of light blue, especially florals.

Incognito.
A scarf for warmth.

The stuff:
I added little lacy socks with the shoes - a more daring look! I like pushing myself to try new things.

  • Scarf - thrifted
  • Belt - Fluevog

Bold bling:
I have this necklace (and the sister ginormous turquoise one) hanging on my accessory wall, and was casting my eyes about for a bigass necklace. Oof, it's heavy. My neck was a bit red from the weight when I took it off!

  • Rock crystal necklace - vintage mall, gift from L
  • Stone turquoise bracelet - thrifted, Sidney
  • Steel cuff - Lakeland Art Metal Work, vintage 70s, thrifted
  • Glass bead earrings - local
  • Fulvia ring/lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes

Off to meet our potential furry family member! Yes, I will share pictures once we are sure we're a match. Stay tuned!

  1. This outfit is what I call funky comfy fun. Why? Because of the many layers of which the pencil skirt is like the surprise in a cereal box, the socks and dressy shoes (I totally have worn such combos), and the chunky necklace. Interestingly, though, I quite liked the outfit with the scarf and on a chilly day would wear it in lieu of a necklace. Your earrings, the more delicate of the two rings and your steel cuff all elicited an ‘Oh Yes!’ from me.
Most of all…here’s to finding a bonding match for your next furry feline friend. :)
    Cheers, Laurie

    1. I enjoyed the surprise of the pencil skirt's pattern showing through, and although I'm not keeping that, it was a successful experiment. I actually liked it with the scarf too. Ha, you like more delicate than me, Laurie!
      Onwards we shall search!

  2. Wow, that's a lot of layering going on there! I didn't see the skirt coming, but it actually works really well shimmering through that sheer dress. I'm hearing you on its relegation to Limbo, though, as I don't think it's very you on its own. The rock crystal necklace is stunning but I can imagine it being quite heavy. My neck doesn't thank me either if I subject it to anything like that! xxx

    1. I was very pleased with the layering - it's different and interesting, and I will be trying other ways of layering the sheer dress. Glad I have your agreement - I trust your judgment, Ann!
It's lovely, but yeah. SO heavy! Thank you!
