And in return, I wore pajamas to work.
- Silk tunic - Sympli, thrifted; last worn here in May 2014 to the periodontist
- Mesh top (underneath) - AWear, vintage 90s, thrifted; last seen here in February for a Mental Health Shop
- Trousers - BCBG Max Azria, consignment; last worn here in September 2024 with a linen layer
- Sandals - Chie Mihara; last seen here
- Wool coat (below) - Hand Made By Sheila, vintage, consignment
For the book readers out there, by the way, we discussed Octavia Butler's "Parable of the Sower" at Book Club (split 50/50, I was in the dislike camp. BLEAK.), and our next book is "All Fours" by Miranda July (stoked for this!).
Back to my jammies. I woke up to gloomy, rainy weather, so I layered a long-sleeved orange mesh top under this silk tunic, which is very thin.
I love the softness and its flowiness, though.
I felt like big flowy pants were called for.
It's looks a bit disproportionate, except that there are slits to the hip on either side of the tunic.
Very hard to show that flippy movement in pictures.
All the swishing in this outfit was very soothing. I had a hectic day!
Sheila the Spy. I didn't wear my sunglasses because it was DARK in the morning, but of course, I regretted it.
It was sunny and 15oC out on the way home (but very windy). I roasted in this thick coat, but it's so gorgeous and I do look like a spy!
Accoutrements:
Clearly, morning me thought it was going to rain all day. The scarf was lovely, though. - Wool fedora - Edward Mann, vintage 60s, thrifted
- Scarf - vintage, thrifted; purchased here for $2.00
The stuff:
I had hopes of wearing my flat copper Fluevogs, but the pants were just too long, so I quickly swapped to these sandals. I need to paint my toes for spring!

- Copper brooch - thrifted
- Copper/glass ring - consignment
- Copper ball ring - consignment
- Copper earrings - vintage expo
- Copper link bracelet - Renoir, vintage 50s, thrifted
- Copper ball necklace/bracelet - vintage 60s, vintage expo
- Copper chain necklace - consignment
Most of this is from the 60s. Love it!
I like this combination. Swooshy and flowy. I too must paint my toes for Spring, except the weather has not really warmed up enough for sandals yet here on the Black Sea. Of course there are some crazy early tourists who are even sun bathing :) Cheers, Lise
ReplyDeleteI loved this outfit, and I have now done my toes, Lise! It's not warm enough here either, ha ha!
DeleteThat's a fantastic outfit, I love Sheila the Spy! The jewellery is epic. xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Vix!
DeleteI too love Sheila the Spy!
ReplyDeleteI'm reading All Fours. A Sizzler!
Judith from Ottawa
I'm excited to read it, but I have to hold off until closer to our next meeting or I'll forget the whole thing. thanks, Judith!
DeleteThis is very elegant, Sheila the Spy!
ReplyDelete(Been watching Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, and you’d fit right in there as well) (Slink right in?)
Above comment from ReaderRita
DeleteThank you so much, Rita! yes, I love Phryne Fisher's outfits! So slinky!
DeleteWhere in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? She’s in Victoria posing as Sheila the Spy. ;)
ReplyDeleteI love your outfit! It’s kind of like a jammy dress but for pants and a tunic and both flow with comfort. Yay for finding the orange bangle. :) Just yesterday, come evening, I noticed an ear was missing it’s earring. Hoping it fell out while gardening and that I’ll find it in the bushes. I am a big fan of all your copper pieces though confess I was hoping the orange bangle would reappear, as if to say ‘I’m still here.’ ;)
Happy Friday (which is when I’m typing this comment) and here’s to a wonderful weekend!
Cheers, Laurie
Ha, love it, Laurie, thank you! I hope your earring shows up!
DeletePhew about the orange bangle!
ReplyDeleteAs for your office pajamas outfit, I absolutely love it, and the copper bling couldn't have been more perfect. I'm also swooning about that pin striped spy coat, which I wouldn't mind having in my wardrobe! xxx
It was not more than a dollar or two, so I wouldn't have been TOO sad, but I am happy that it appeared. Thanks so much, Ann!
DeleteGlad that bangle turned up! I'm loving the copper and oranges. Swoosh comfort!!! X
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kezzie!

ReplyDeleteLooking really stylish, Sheila The Spy!, that's a gorgeous coat!. I also love the swooshiness and the tunic over pants style, or 'office pajamas' as you called it!, I need some of them!
ReplyDeleteAnd so fab copper jewellery!
besos
Thank you so much - it's really a beauty, but was far too warm for the day in the end.
DeleteOh, yes, very artistic.
