Today's outfit was built around the blouse I got at the last Winesday - I can never resist a bag of clothes!
I gave Sarah's dark green floral blouse a shot, and a one-shot is all it shall be.
- Blouse - Monk & Lou, swap from Sarah; acquired here at the last Winesday in May
- Pants - Long Tall Sally, consignment; last seen here in February as backdrop for the Mr. Darcy spy coat
- Leather Quincy loafers - Chloe, consignment; purchased here for $38.00
- Wool cape - Dafydd Snowden, Welsh, vintage 70s, thrifted; last worn here in September 2024
It's just a polyester blouse with a pretty pattern of brown flowers.
The shape is boring to me - there's no art to it!
Heh, don't you just love my enthusiasm? But I know when something's not for me - and it's off to Limbo where I'll give it away, passing on the good karma from Sarah's generosity.
My bright orange Boss Pants make another appearance. They're a neutral for me.
I left the back of the blouse untucked, and there's a peek at the back of my "stepped on" loafers.

Incognito and throwing up my hands at the variable weather.
The stuff:
I enjoyed the new-to-me Chloe (Fancy Designer) shoes, which I wore with a pair of my little sheer socks and with the heels folded down, and I even walked a few blocks to lunch. They did not do the "slap-slap", felt secure on my foot and they were very comfortable. Winners!
This Welsh wool cape is beautiful, but scratchy on bare arms, and far too hot to walk home in. I carried it in a tote bag.
Accoutrements:
While I liked how this silk and bead-trimmed tassel scarf looked with my outerwear, I NEVER reach for it, so it's time to move it along as well.
- Scarf - consignment
- Flower brooch - can't remember, Le Chateau maybe?
- Shell brooch - JJ, consignment, Powell River

Pearly bling:
In addition to the cream theme, I played with an ocean theme.
Pearls, the seashell brooch, and thumbs up to this new-to-me fish necklace.

Ah yes, pattern and color will seduce me every time till I actually put on the piece and then reality sinks in…a keeper or not. Agreed that this top doesn’t have much shape though the arms are different in being so wide. Never fear, boss lady pants to the rescue! I love these and have surely said so in previous posts. :) Vibrant color and flattering fit, and (for you :)) a neutral, all good!
ReplyDeleteI’m not sold on the Chloe shoes (yet) even though you said they stayed secure on your feet. I’m so accustomed to shoes with backs and these remind me of closed toe flip-flops. I’ll be interested in seeing them styled with the backs up instead of folded down.
Cheers, Laurie
I agree with you on the top, but the orange boss pants did save the day!
ReplyDeleteSwooning over the belt, fish necklace, seashell brooch (still lacking in my collection) and scarf. Like Laurie, I'm not sold on the shoes. They do look great but the folded down backs would drive me mad. xxx
Despite your misgivings over the top it does look great with those cool trousers although the mismatched pattern on the back seam makes me twitchy!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the shoes were comfier than they looked! xxx
The pants are the star of the outfit! I'm not feeling the top either but you made it work! The loafers are such a find! X
