Sneaking in a wearing of my wonderful denim Kenzo suit today, and one more outing for these sky-high heels.
I might keep the suit out - it would work in summer for sure, and I'd like to try it with sneakers. Not so much the shoes - I have no burgundy in my spring/summer wardrobe.
- Denim suit - Kenzo Jeans, vintage 80s, consignment; last worn here in January 2024 with green accents
- Silk/cotton top - Eddie Bauer, thrifted; last worn here at Bowker Creek with Mom in February
- Shoes - Queen of Prussia Louise, Fluevog; last seen here (2nd outfit) in October 2024 to a burlesque event
- Puffer coat (below) - Donna Karan, consignment; last worn here (but not shown - I wore it to the VFF Gala) in February
My colleagues were suitably impressed by my swanky look today. Colleague Stuart positively gushed - I always let folks know I welcome comments on my outfits (but never my body!). Coworker Viz gasped when he saw it.
"Just wear black every day like me."
Surprise! This is a black denim textile - you're looking at the BACK of it, which has been printed with blue, grey and black flowers.
This is only the third time I've worn it and the first time with burgundy - a success.
The green bits were good too, but I think the first time I wore it with my purple boots and sweater is still the best combo. I'd like to do yellow with it.

The jacket is very boxy and the skirt is high-waisted.
It was quite comfortable for my workday.
Without the jacket, which I took off after huffing up the stairs.
"I demand to be in your picture."
I had originally planned to wear the Pastelli vintage brooch at my neck like this, but didn't like it once I put the jacket on - you may have noticed that I ended up with it on my pocket instead.
Snuggly outerwear.
I walked to work - not in heels, of course! My trusty floral Docs are still going strong.

- Scarf - Zadig & Voltaire, consignment
- Toque - thrifted
- Wool gloves - Parkhurst
The stuff:
These shoes are actually pretty comfortable, but I'll be wearing flats or something foot-friendly for Mom-Day tomorrow!
Red bling:
I threaded this pony hair belt through the belt loops of the skirt. I like that I now have three dark red bits in my "set".

- Leather belt - Gap, thrifted
- Silver grape cuff - Karen's
- Red stone cuff - thrifted
- Silver chain ring - Mexican, consignment
- Silver/red stone ring - thrifted
- Silver/crystal ring - Soul Flower
- Brooch - Pastelli, vintage 60s, Grandma S's

Oh. My. Gosh. This is a stunner of an outfit and it looks fabulous on your frame with perfect proportions! Everything about it shines, from the accessories (those earrings, cuffs and rings!) to the stockings to the shoes and the fabulous suit and blouse. Yes, usually I comment on the height of the heels, but really, with shoes such as these, it’s about admiring the lines and color and interesting heel. Am commenting on Thursday morning so Happy Mom Day Adventure to you and your Mom!
ReplyDeleteCheers, Laurie
Yup, this one was a winner, Laurie! Even my mom said she liked it! Thank you so much!
DeleteI'd love to see that snazzy suit with trainers as well and yes to comments ONLY about the clothes and not the body inside them, that makes me very uncomfortable, too! Have a brilliant day tomorrow. xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks, Vix! I'll be sure to test it out - my pink sequined Converse would be fun with it.
DeleteI know! I don't get too many weird or personal comments from blogging, fortunately.
That printed denim suit is amazing and burgundy is just the perfect colour with it.
ReplyDeleteSeconding VIx's comment that any comments on my body - whether positive or negative - would make me very uncomfortable. I love getting comments on my clothes though :-) xxx
Thank you so much, Ann! Yeah, why do people feel the need to talk about my body? It's ALL about the clothes! And comment on those all you want!
DeleteWhat a fantastic outfit! I love that suit on you.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Ivana! I love this suit.
DeleteThat is such a beautiful suit!!!! The red top is beautiful too!!!x
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kezzie!
