Cover Skirt Gone Cowgirl

There were lots of folks in the office today, so I was glad I'd dressed up. Way, way up!
I was also treated to lunch by my VPs - Tapa Bar pizza, yum! - so I put on something fancy for them too.

  • Leather studded jacket - Michael Kors, consignment; last worn here in November 2024 with yesterday's blouse and plaid
  • Shirt - Eddie Bauer, consignment; last seen here in February, layered under a wooly pink sweater
  • Cashmere/wool vest - Caroline Grace, thrifted; first worn here (and not visible!) in February 2024 with cords and Dries
  • Skirt - Erdem, consignment; last seen here in December 2024 with sequins
  • Leather boots - Coach, consignment, Vancouver; last worn here in January with mixed knits

I had a lovely Castle view in the morning.
Love that warm orange sunlight!

I wanted to wear this Erdem skirt again as I hadn't liked the outfit with it last time. The proportions were off.
This time, I made sure I got my visual waist high enough. When you're short, it only takes a tiny amount to throw it all off.

I layered it all - my white shirt with a thin sweater tank over it, all tucked into the most spectacular skirt ever, the Cover Skirt. Of course, I always have to go back and look at the pictures from our Tweed photoshoot (here)!
I added studded cowboy boots to match the leather studded jacket.

Yes! The studs go all the way around!
I felt awesome in this, would totally wear it again.

I didn't take the jacket off, but if I did...
...that's what I'd look like.

Outerwear. Once again, I risked not wearing a coat, and just adding scarf and gloves.
Success! It was a mild day.

Accoutrements:
I liked the flounciness of this ruffled velvet scarf.

  • Velvet scarf - Echo, consignment
  • Wool gloves - Parkhurst

The stuff:
These boots just make me smile - they are so awesome. So many studs, and the perfect heel.

Cowgirl bling:
Hands up if you own a bolo tie! This is a Shi Studio bolo, thrifted for $7.00 in 2018 (here's me wearing it for the first time).

  • Belt - Mudd, vintage 90s, thrifted
  • Silver/link bracelet - consignment
  • Cuff w/red stone - thrifted
  • Bolo tie w/cowgirl - Shi Studios, thrifted
  • Silver/crystal ring - Soul Flower
  • Silver/red stone ring - thrifted
  • Silver/red enamel ring - antique mall, Sidney
  • Silver earrings - Israeli, consignment

I buckled the belt in the back, hiding it under my jacket. So clever!

  5. Appreciating the belt now that I’ve read your substack on the Belts Belts Belts. :-) I love your skirt and immediately recognized it from the photo cover shoot! Your entire ensemble, from head to toe, is a outfit. An outfit = every piece goes perfectly with every other piece, as if they were made for one another. :-) Also, I agree, the proportions are just right with this iteration of the skirt. In looking back at the last time you wore the skirt we both commented on the proportions being off with the selected top. Yay for remedying the situation this time round. :-)
Nice to be in your time zone for a bit! Cheers, Laurie PS Robin and Fred say HI back to you!
