Rock & Roll Ruffles

Well, that was a nice short week! Sure, there's Friday, but it's just one day.
Throwing a bunch of my favourite things together.

  • Cotton-blend jacket - Royal Underground, consignment; last worn here in March with black jeans
  • Cotton/silk sleeveless blouse - Eddie Bauer, thrifted; last seen here in February for Sweetheart Week
  • Wool-blend skirt - Marc Cain, thrifted, Sidney; last worn here with fuzzy orange for a Mom-Day in February
  • Suede boots - Coach, consignment, Vancouver; last seen here in September with that vest that went to Jess
  • Poncho - Bodybag by Jude, consignment, gift from L; last worn here in March

My rock and roll jacket is the one from Tweed magazine - it's from the long-defunct label by Nikki Sixx of Motley Cru, Royal Underground.
I layered this lovely ruffled sleeveless blouse over it and added my hipster leopard knit skirt.

I had some fun with spiders, wearing my wee stud earrings on the jacket's ruffles, and my bigger brooch on the other side.
I also pinned my coiled snake brooch to the flipped back cuffs of the jacket.

Incognito and blurry.
I threw my poncho over all of this.

Snake pin!
A better shot of the snake on the cuff too.

The stuff:
I didn't need the scarf or gloves on the way home, and stuffed them in my tote with the boots.

  • Leather purse - Rebecca Minkoff, consignment
  • Silk flies scarf - Smoking Lily, thrifted
  • Leopard spotted gloves - thrifted; purchased here for $3.98
  • Snake pin - consignment

Black and silver bling:
I found the dragon earrings in my jewelry "archive" and thought I should actually WEAR them.

  • Belt - Mudd, vintage 90s, thrifted
  • Snake brooch - c. 1985, gift from Mom & Dad
  • Spider brooch - vintage mall, gift from L
  • Spider earrings - thrifted
  • Fang bangle - Alexis Bittar, consignment, Sidney
  • Silver/obsidian bracelet - Mexican, consignment, Sidney
  • Silver hinged bracelet - consignment, Sidney
  • Silver snake ring - c. 1985, BC Museum Gift Shop
  • Silver/onyx spider ring - c. 1986, gift from Mom & Dad
  • Dragon earrings - vintage 90s, gift from Mom & Dad
  • Necklace - Myka, thrifted

No Mom-Day tomorrow, as I have to do the prep for my Limbo Sale on Sunday, so signing off for a few days as we head into the weekend.

Leaving you with the boys watching the maple leaves fall.
I like how their tails are touching.

Must look!
Barnabas has a bit of a tum - he is a greedy boy.

Completely in synch.
Very stretchy!

This is my favourite.
They spotted a squirrel!

Thanks so much for being here - please pop in on Sunday (maybe Monday, I might be very exhausted) for tales of adventure!

  1. Okay, this one is ALL about your kitties! Their synchronicity is astounding! Maybe that is a normal thing for sibling cats raised together? I know you are not posing them. ;-) Maybe it's just that all cats tend to react the same way to certain stimuli?
The poncho is fabulous - colors, pattern and shape. Here's to prepping Thursday for your Limbo Sale, to a successful sale and some down time over the weekend! Cheers, Laurie

    1. Yes, it's a fun skirt - the best ones go casual AND dressy, and those are the ones I keep! Thanks so much, Lise!
