Red Lace and Bronze Pleats

Back to work! Thank goodness the August halo of vacation time is still on - I only had 110 emails to deal with!
I picked the dragon top to style up first - it's an easy piece, and I did an easy look.

  • White shirt - Eddie Bauer, consignment; last seen here in June with a leather tie and a pop-art cardigan
  • Lace top - Luna Moon, consignment, Powell River; purchased here for $18.40
  • Skirt - Ralph Lauren, consignment; last worn here earlier this month for a Mom-Day
  • Sneakers - Findlay, consignment; last NOT seen here early this month (the photos disappeared! it's a mystery!)

White shirt layered underneath!
I liked how it went with the red lace top and gave me sun coverage for walking to and from work.

The skirt was also an easy pick.
Bronze pleats go with everything!

Incognito.
Whateley approved of the Movie Star Wrap.

The stuff:
I liked that I had flies on the scarf and bees on the shoes.

  • Silk fly scarf - Smoking Lily, thrifted
  • Brooch - Monet, thrifted, Sidney

I put the brooch over the top shirt button.

Bold bling:
The collar points are so cool.

  • Carved faux cinnabar bangle - consignment
  • Sparkly bracelet - thrifted
  • Wooden Klimt ring - consignment
  • Amber ring - c. 1995
  • Earrings - Biko, consignment
  • Collar points - vintage 80s, consignment

Kitties snoozing on the deck.
So crashed.

Barnabas purrs as soon as he sees me.
I can't resist petting him.

  1. The red top reminded me of Chinese New Year. One year, many moons ago around the time of Chinese New Year, Fred and I took our older son and a friend of his to Chinatown in NYC. They had the excitement of being able to help carry one of those large overhead dragons though if I recall only Fred was tall enough and with arms long enough to participate!
Unrelated, I was able to edit my original comment on your substack of this week. For some reason the … didn't initially work. LOL more than likely it had to do with the device I was using because it would never have been due to me (because I actually did know about the …. ;-) ) Cheers, Laurie

    1. Yes, it absolutely has that vibe! How cool that Fred got to try that!
Ha, I'm sure it was just a system glitch! Of course you know that! ;-P

  2. Well, that new top worked out beautifully, didn't it? The whole outfit looks as if all pieces were made for each other. I see the wooden Klimt ring popping up again. It is a favourite, isn't it?

    1. I love it! It felt very comfortable, very me. Yes, I've had it for around 18 years and it's well-worn. Definitely a fave!
