That's a bird sitting on the water buffalo's shoulder.
My other colleagues LOVED this sweater - I enjoyed telling them that the designer, Kensai Yamamoto, created some of David Bowie's most iconic looks. And he had a show at the V&A Museum (link here 'cause I love - you might recognize the black jumpsuit with the wide pants)!
Camille was delighted at the back. "It's a fin!" She also checked to see if the acid yellow mini was real suede (it's not, but it has pockets!).
We had torrential downpours all day. I got soaked both ways.
But only my outerwear! My hair, feet and clothes stayed dry (and yes, I walked to and from work in these boots).

Barnabas was also lurking around while I set the timer on my camera.
"Just open the bathroom door a crack..." "I love cuddling!"
I arrived home to find their water fountain pulled apart, a bulb missing from a string of lights (Barnabas brought it to me) and a power bar shut off. What the heck, boys?
The stuff:
Bold bling:
The boys were feeling playful after their destruction of the fountain and whatever they did with the power bar.
I found myself wanted a warmer scarf as I walked home with rain and wind lashing in my face. Everything there is wet.

Mom-Day is back tomorrow!

I love the sweater!! Stunning. Also the boots and skirt. Brilliant styling. Cheers Lise
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you so much, Lise!
DeleteJust found your blog and it's so inspiring!!! LOVE this look. Say hi to your cat <3
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI too love the sweater. A wearable work of art.
ReplyDeleteJudith from Ottawa
It is, I agree, Judith, thank you!
DeleteI'm with you and your other colleague: that sweater is fabulous and so much fun!
ReplyDeleteBarnabas and Whateley must be the naughtiest kittens ever but how kind of Barnabas to bring you the missing bulb ;-) I'm sure they egg each other on. I used to have two kittens - brothers - as well, and they managed to destroy their scratching post and break half of the glasses on our drinks trolley. xxx
Agreed, Ann, there is no accounting for taste!
DeleteThey are very naughty, but also very sweet and affectionate. They DO egg each other on! I remind myself, "It's just things," when something gets broken!
I quite like the fun and funkiness of your outfit! It's something I would wear and feel like a total kick-ass in. :-) As for the toilet paper, well that's a completely other story. Whateley!!!! LOL that Barnabas brought you the bulb. Was he snitching on Whateley ;-) or just fessing up for himself. :-) No idea why they would pull their water fountain apart or (possibly) step on the power bar switch! Maybe in a past life they were both electricians…
ReplyDeleteCheers, Laurie
PS I also wanted to say the outfit looks super on you - you look like you are in your element and your enjoyment of wearing all the pieces shines through.
DeleteAlso, HI to Helen tomorrow! Cheers again, Laurie
One more PS - Robin is figuratively knee-deep in the atmospheric river and we have a feeling you are too. Fred was showing me a radar map in motion and now we know what it's called a river - oh my gosh, the map shows a flow that looks exactly like a river in the sky flowing in from the Pacific and over the land!
DeleteIt did feel very much like a kickass outfit! Thank you - I did really enjoy wearing it.
DeleteThe kittens are such little monkeys - Barnabas plays fetch with everything, and has brought me (in addition to that bulb) lipstick, lipgloss, toothpicks, squishy balls and crumpled up pieces of paper. I suspect that they turned off the power bar first...then when the fountain stopped working, they tore it apart to get at the water. Smart boys, although messy.
I hope Robin wasn't hit too badly with the rain! It was pretty much a deluge all day...but yesterday was clear (and so is today/Friday). Wishing you and Fred a happy weekend, Laurie!
That sweater definitely says, "Sheila's here!" It keeps your coworkers on their toes wondering "what next?" I hate to tell you that when we had cats and they were much older than Whateley and Barnabas, they used to run around at night and knock plants over. I put them in the basement and one of them tried to drag a small rug under the basement door. But we loved them anyway!
