Two-Fer: Work Pinstripes, and Book Club Holiday Dinner in Sequins

Hello, my friends! Today's outfit is very much NOT seasonal. I just felt like wearing the booties, and this is the outfit that I had picked to go with them.
This is very much how I see my style going - but don't panic, I'm not about to go all neutrals or anything! I love colour too much for that.

  • Mesh top - Mexx, thrifted; last worn here in July under the Completely Impractical Raincoat
  • Vest top - Sun Kim, thrifted; last seen here in March with gold and black velvet
  • Wool trousers - Red Valentino, consignment; last worn here in February with all my pinstripes
  • Leather booties - Matisse, thrifted; purchased here for $24.95
  • Suede coat (below) - Tadmor, vintage 70s, vintage mall; last seen here in October

I have a black camisole under this striped mesh long-sleeved top.
I had to the aviators again, since they have lines the same!

The olive vest is a groovy piece - I played with the wired neckline a bit.
I showed off the black pinstriped wool Valentino trousers to my colleagues, who marveled more at my full-length "pantaloon" slip that I had underneath. The trousers are not lined.

I am proud that I fully resewed the cuffed hems.
A handy skill to have!

Ready for rain.
I fully expected to get soaked, as it had poured all night, with lashings of wind.

It did not rain! It was even sunny briefly.
Happy to wear this lovely blue suede vintage coat again.

Accoutrements:
This wool fedora maker created hats for Dame Diana Rigg!

  • Scarf - Givenchy, consignment, gift from L
  • Hat - Edward Mann, vintage 60s, thrifted
  • Studded leather gloves - Danier Leather

L borrowed this scarf on the weekend, reminding me to wear it.

The stuff:
Loved these comfy wedge boots, loved them with the wide-legged trousers. I found that gently wetting the hairy texture make it lie totally flat.

Crystal and silver bling:
I kept some of this out for my change when I got home.

  • Belt - vintage 90s, consignment
  • Crystal necklace - thrifted, Vancouver
  • Silver hinged cuff - thrifted, Powell River
  • Silver/Lucite bangle - Alexis Bittar, consignment, Vancouver
  • Silver/crystal ring - Soul Flower
  • Silver/smoky topaz ring - Anneli Neumann, Sweden, vintage mall
  • Silver earrings - Israel, consignment

Our annual Book Club Holiday Dinner was booked for Zambri's - we ate, drank, laughed and celebrated for three hours.
Of course, I dressed up! Do you even know me?

  • Silk dress - Obakki, consignment; purchased here for $70.00
  • Boots - Original Sabado, Fluevog; last seen here in November with navy, wine and stripes
  • Wool/cashmere coat (below) - Sarmite Wearable Art, consignment; last seen here yesterday

I walked to town and back. I liked the dress, but I'm going to undo the seam on the lining, as it's too tight - it made its way up to my waist by the time I got to the restaurant.
Sparkle, sparkle! The blur is Vizzini cruising around, looking for food.

Pink and black.
"I'm clearly in black and white."

The rain held off yet again. It was a lovely night.
Made better by spending it with friends.

Accoutrements:
Pink things.
  • Purse - Michael Kors, consignment
  • Fur scarf - thrifted
  • Studded leather gloves - Danier Leather

The stuff:
Practical boots.

  • Jewelry - as above

Much love to my bodacious Book Club babes!

  1. I love the direction your style is going. It is inspiring me. Sporty-Edgy. The clear belt is so cool. Actually everything in the first outfit is so cool. Good styling! Lise
