I'll be matching the glasses to the outfits, and this louche outfit seemed to fit.
First outing of this sweater - it's okay, good enough for now. I hate the plasticky fabric.
But the colour, cut and drape are just right, so until I find a secondhand cashmere one...
This is practically office pajamas!

I loved wearing these tweed trousers again, and really liked them with the pink pointy shoes.
Big pockets, yes!
Big pockets, yes!
This is the only picture where you can see my little lace socklets.
I tightened/shortened the very-long trouser cuffs with a bulldog clip per leg to keep them off the wet sidewalks, and of course, I always navigate our streets in my Doc Martens and carry my shoes in a bag inside my backpack.
Accoutrements:
I love the giant silk scarf swaddling my neck - it's snuggly warm. - Silk scarf - Alexander McQueen, consignment
- Toque - thrifted
- Leather gloves - consignment
The stuff:
This is actually a very comfortable heel. I love the classic shape.Black bling:

Those glasses are such a cool update on aviators! I couldn't wear them back in the day because my eyes are so bad. They didn't have the technology to make the nice thin lenses they do now. But, that coat...oh, my goodness! Should she ever need to move south to, say Indiana, I know a closet that would welcome her with open arms! I do wish I could wear heels, but my Frankenfoot just doesn't let me balance for long on that kind of heel. I only have three pieces of jewelry from my parents...a copper roadrunner, a charm bracelet (not even very full), and a pair of diamond earrings. I just love that S your parents got you...so cool and so you!

Yeah, my lenses are still pretty thick, Marsha - they had to warn me that I'd still have lens out past the edge of the frame.
DeleteThe coat is spectacular - people stop me to ask about it! Sorry to hear that heels are off the table for you - I can feel that day coming for me eventually...but not just yet!
Your roadrunner brooch sounds like 1960s Bell Trading Post. :)
I thought of you today when I visited the Unclaimed Baggage Store in Alabama. We had to be in that state for a school event. We only had to go an hour out of our way to stop at UB. Holy Smokes - Thrift Store Mecca. Peak Thrift Store. They have the whole gamut of price ranges from Keds to Manolo Blahnik. My daughter got two evening gowns for $10 and $16. I only had 2 hours to shop, but we made it count. The whole town was filled with thrift store after thrift store.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, that sounds ASTOUNDING! If I'm ever in Alabama...
DeleteWhat a tonic that bright pink looks on such a grey morning.
ReplyDeleteThose glasses look fantastic on you and fit into your new Sporty Sheila vibe! xxx
Yeah, that's why I keep a lot of brights out for this time of year, Vix! We have to make our own sunshine, even in pink.
DeleteThank you so much!
Yay for your new glasses! I like how you can change the vibe of your look simply by changing glasses. As for your outfit, that’s my idea of a perfect ‘if I must get dressed’ outfit. It has color to wake you up and comfort to be, as you noted, office pajamas.
ReplyDeleteYup, the coat is fabulous with its vibrancy and color on BOTH sides!
Here’s to a soon-to-be vacation for you!
Cheers, Laurie
Yup, that's the plan! I admit, I wore them again today - the newness is exciting and appealing to me.
DeleteThanks so much - I tried to keep the outfit from being too pajama-y!
Only 2 more days of work...but busy ones, for sure. Thank you, Laurie!
Aww love the outfit, you are such a style icon!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, very kind of you. :)
DeleteNice glasses! And as an aside, I of course admire your sartorial skill but have to add that I'm equally impressed with your vocabulary. "Louche"!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ally! I have always had a big vocabulary! Louche is such a good word, isn't it?
DeleteLove the new specs, but must admit I had no idea they were called aviators ...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous outfit too. Those trousers look the epitome of comfort while being stylish at the same time, and the pink bookends are just perfect with it. Always such a tonic to see that magnificent coat! xxx
Named after the sunglasses that pilots/aviators wore in WWII, Ann! Thank you - I love these trousers. I know, that coat is so gloriously colourful!
DeleteI agree, the pink pointy toed pumps are made for these trousers. I hope you'll find a cashmere sweater in this pink colour, as it looks really nice.
ReplyDeleteGreetje
Yes! That would be perfect!
