Pink Plaid and Black Leather

Today's outfit was "workshopped" in my closet last night, planning around these new-to-me pink plaid pants.
While I'd like to match them to the mossy green in the plaid, I don't have a lick of that colour in my fall/winter wardrobe, so it's likely I'll move these to my spring/summer closet instead.

  • Leather tee - Danier Leather, thrifted; last seen here in July with sequins
  • Shirt - Denver Hayes, consignment; last worn here (2nd outfit) layered under a dress in September
  • Pants - Frnch, consignment; purchased here NWT for $35.00
  • Shoes - Swordfish Marquis, Fluevog; last seen here (2nd outfit) in June with a painty skirt
  • Coat (below) - L'Atiste, consignment, Vancouver; last worn here in September

In the meantime, I did my best with what I had - a black tee!
But not just any tee - this one has black leather on the front (the front is lined as well) and beading on the shoulders.

And a poly-blend back with leather around the zipper.
I layered a pink sleeveless shirt under it for warmth and to make the pink pants feel less lonely.

I loved the oversized fit of the trousers, and those nice large pockets.
I stapled the front and back of the cuffs to the pant-leg so that they weren't so floppy. Yeah, I could stitch them, but realistically? Maybe in a few months?

Outerwear!
More plaid! It was a clear and sunny day today, one of those gorgeous fall days.

Accoutrements:
A light scarf with some pink in it.

  • Scarf - Banana Republic, thrifted
  • Leather gloves - consignment

The stuff:
"Are those comfortable?" asked one of my colleagues. Oh my gosh, yes - they're men's! Ha ha, sort of kidding (they are unisex Fluevogs), but I did walk all over Seattle in these last autumn.

Black and gold bling:
Oops, missed the collar points in the Stuff pic.

  • Fang bangle - Alexis Bittar, consignment, Sidney
  • Hinged bangle and earrings - Alexis Bittar, consignment, gift from L
  • Double snake ring - consignment
  • Gold/amethyst ring - France Jewelers, c. 1965, Dad's
  • Collar points - consignment

I decorated the Reception area at work today.
Ooh, spooky!

  1. Oh, those trousers! I knew when you showed us them in your shopping treasures that not only would they look good on you, but that I was going to love what you did with them. Done and done! Significantly super swell slacks, Sheila! (And can’t wait to see them with mossy green!) readerrita

    1. Thank you so much, Rita! I'm excited to style them up with a t-shirt and I have a great spring/summer Adidas bomber that will look amazing with them, I think.

  2. Sheer comfort, perhaps one of the best qualities of any outfit! Spiffy looking with room to move and to sit without losing circulation at the crease between torso and legs; any pants like that are perfect! I like the office decorations you set up, especially the architectural cutout. Are there (or will there be) edible treats in the cauldron?

    1. Yup, there is no reason not to be comfortable in one's clothes! Yes, lots of room, and they were delightfully swooshy to walk in (and not a tripping hazard either).
Not sure about treats (dangerous for me!) - I won't be in the office on Hallowe'en itself.
