Ruffles at the Periodontist

Sorry for the late post, my friends - I had my biannual periodontist appointment, which of course, knocked me for a loop. I slept for most of the early evening.
The office is empty while a bunch of our management is at a meeting, so I took advantage of it with a more casual outfit.

  • Blouse - Nicole Benisti, consignment; purchased here for $34.99
  • Cotton trousers - Calvin Klein 205W39NYC by Raf Simmons, c. 2019, consignment; last seen here (2nd outfit) in March in a funky-chunky Friday outfit
  • Creeper shoes - Call It Spring, consignment; last worn here (3rd outfit) in May to see "Joseph"
  • Leather coat (below) - Maison Rabih Kayrouz, consignment, Vancouver; last seen here in March

The clouds looming over the Castle looked foreboding.
I really hoped it wouldn't rain again. I mean, we need rain, but I really prefer not getting soaked on the way to work.

First wearing of this blouse, and I liked it enough to keep it. I can't resist a rock & roll ruffle!
The cotton pants (very chi-chi designer) are shiny and deep blue - not jeans, but definitely a more casual vibe. Perfect for sitting upside-down in a dental chair!

I had company while I did my pictures. Barnabas wants to play!
He's brought me his ball to throw for him.

I wore the scarf at my neck on the way to my appointment.
Barnabas brings back the ball again.

And I wore my scarf in my hair to keep the wind from snarling it up, on the way to work in the morning. No rain, yay!
And a kitty who is happy to have had a tiny bit of playtime before I left.

The stuff:
I briefly considered wearing a heel, but couldn't muster the effort in the morning.

  • Silk scarf - Fluevog
  • Belt - B-Lo the Belt, thrifted

Silvery bling:
My colleague Keagan admired the brooch at my neck, and was boggled when I told her how old it was. Some things you just keep!

  • Brooch - c. 1999, Eaton's
  • Carved jadeite bangle - consignment
  • Steel/purple stone bracelet - Moda, vintage 70s, Malta
  • Lapis lazuli and Fulvia Rings - Wendy Brandes
  • Silver earrings - gift from Petra

And now, off to bed.

  1. I’m generally not a ruffles person (on me) but on you and with these pants the ruffled blouse looks nice and like it belongs. To my eye it’s as if the pants tamp down the frilliness. In any case, I can image the outfit was sheer comfort to balance the discomfort of being at the periodontist. And I like to further imagine that your furry boys cuddled up with you when you conked out. Here’s to the next morning and feeling fine! Cheers, Laurie & Hi Sheila from Fred :-)

  2. I like this outfit, especially with the jacket. Cool juxtaposition with the dressy top and casual pants and shoes.
