Wine Leather and Brown Paisley Bookends

What I thought was going to be a quiet day ended up being one where I was rushed off my feet. I was glad I had my armour on!
Wearing this wonderfully rich leather skirt again - it's only been worn once and deserves to shine.

  • Silk blouse - Ralph Lauren, vintage 00, consignment; purchased here for $42.00
  • Leather skirt - Tory Burch, consignment; first seen here (2nd outfit) in December 2024 (same tights!) with a wooly sweater
  • Boots - Mini Babycakes, Fluevog; last worn here in March with yellow velvet
  • Eclipse coat (below) - Welsh wool, vintage 1960s, consignment; last seen here in March

I bookended my recently-found brown paisley ruffled silk blouse with the perfectly matching boots.
The wine skirt toughens it up and gives it a rock and roll look, which I like.

The skirt has nice big pockets.
"What's that crash?"

Sorry, no kitten pictures, as my time was taken up in the morning by moving some things around so that they couldn't jump on top of a shelf. Nothing was broken!

Incognito.
I loved wearing this gorgeous woven Welsh wool coat again.

The stuff:
My feet are very tired after a day of much activity. I promise more comfy shoes for tomorrow's Mom-Day Adventure, feet.

  • Silk scarf - Pierre Balmain, vintage 80s, thrifted
  • Leather gloves - Ralph Lauren, thrifted
  • Gold-plated enamel brooch - De Passille-Sylvestre, vintage 70s, consignment

Amber bling:
I love my collection!

  • Large amber/silver bracelet - consignment
  • Stone bangle - consignment
  • Small amber/silver bracelet - consignment, Powell River
  • Silver/amber thumb ring - consignment
  • Amber/gold-plated ring - c. 1995
  • Stone ring - thrifted
  • Silver/smoky topaz ring - Anneli Neuman, Sweden, vintage mall
  • Amber/silver offset ring - consignment
  • Brooch - Monet, consignment
  • Silver/amber earrings - thrifted

  1. Fabulous Autumna tones in this outfit, Sheila! The clasps on the skirt give it a great 1960s vibe.
I'd forgotten how crazy kittens are! xxx

    1. Thanks so much, Vix! I was enchanted with this skirt when I found it - but functional clasps would have been nice.
OMG, they are such bundles of energy!

  2. Your outfit says Autumnal festivus! I like the juxtaposition of pieces – the ruffles with the leather skirt with the closures of the skirt and the style of the boots. Barnabas strikes me as the perfect cat for this outfit. :-)
Sadly, am sufficiently allergic to wool to not be able to wear coats but WOW your coat is a beauty!
    Cheers, Laurie

    1. Yes, very much! I love all these rich colours together. Ha, both of my boys are neutrals - they both go with every outfit! :)
Aw, that continues to suck. Welsh wools are the best.

    2. My daughter-in-law wears wool and I vicariously greatly appreciate not only the warmth it provides her but also the wonderful colors of wool.

  3. This outfit is truly stunning, Sheila! And ooh, another one of your Welsh wool outerwear pieces is back!
Glad to hear that nothing was broken, but it was probably a wise move things out of harm's way :-) xxx

    1. Yes, I'm making sure I get them all worn, Ann! A poncho and a cape to go!
I've rearranged things and lifted all the lights out of their reach now. Should be safe...hahaha!!

  4. I knew that coat was Welsh before I even read the caption. I made a lovely red cape with Welsh fabric back in my 20s. Why did I not keep it?

    1. Once you know the look of Welsh weaves, they are easy to spot! I have regrets over not buying this same cape in red and black (with a matching purse!!!) in Vancouver years ago, but it was $125...which doesn't seem as much now as it did then.
