But let's not get ahead of ourselves, and instead revel in the fun outfits from Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
On Friday, I had a haircut in the early evening. L and I were both "people'd out" from the previous couple of days, so I just threw on an easy Jammy Dress and dashed off to my appointment.
I walked both ways (about 3km total), and didn't bother with much make-up, and this is my air-dried hair, all long and fluffy - definitely needing a trim.
I have wee shorts on, and layered the long vest for its pockets.
Whateley "helped."
Forgot to take pics with my sunglasses on, but I wore them whenever I was outdoors.
I had a nice quick visit with Kaitlyn, catching up.
More snuggles before I left.

The kitties patrolled while I was gone.
I always look up from street level to see if I can spot them (not so far).

Turned to watch...
...as I walked by.

After a fun evening of board games, music and hilarity, we were up - not early! - and got ready for brunch at John's Place, followed by a grocery shop for the party on Saturday night.
I skipped all the new-to-me stuff and just picked what I felt like wearing. Velvet trousers, it shall be!
- Denim jacket - 500 Cinqcent Maison, thrifted; first worn here (3rd outfit) with pink and green in April for a long weekend hangout with friends
- Cotton ruffled blouse - Ralph Lauren, thrifted; last seen here in May 2025 with Marimekko and bold blue
- Velvet trousers - Anthropologie, consignment, Powell River; last worn here in March with an orange blazer
- Sandals - Aerosoles, consignment; last seen here (3rd outfit) in that same April outfit as the denim jacket
It was cloudy and even rained a bit, so I needed a jacket.
But I didn't mind bare feet with my sandals!
I only took the jacket off while we had brunch.
I love the bold citrus orange colour of this shirt. - Leather purse - Soruka, thrifted, Powell River
- Parrot brooch - vintage fair
- Belt - vintage 90s, consignment
- Steel/crystal heart cuff - Juicy Couture, vintage 90s, consignment
- Nu-wite/glass bracelet - R&G Co., vintage 1920s, vintage mall
- Silver/crystal ring - Soul Flower
- Silver/amethyst ring - vintage mall
- Crystal necklace - FAC Fifth Avenue Collection, thrifted, Sidney; purchased here for $16.00
- Earrings - thrifted
We had a lovely brunch.
L needs more coffee! He's wearing the new Ted Baker shirt I bought him for his birthday. Looks awesome!
I usually do at least one outfit change...and I did this time too!
This was my early outfit, worn until about 10:30pm.
I wanted to feel flowy and swooshy.
"Wings" for sleeves, an orangs snake print, and long necklaces, and another wearing of this crinkled Babette skirt.
I had more "help" with my pictures.
To be fair, it was close to the kittens' dinner time. The stuff:
A mix of metals, and easy shoes for lots of mingling.
- Brass/copper cuff - Karen's
- Nu-wite/glass bracelet - R&G Co., vintage 1920s, vintage mall
- Amber/silver rings - both consignment
- Triple-strand necklace - Nine West, thrifted, Sidney; purchased here for $15.00
- Earrings - Justine Clenquet, consignment, gift from L
- Metal/glass cross necklace - Lalique, vintage 90s, vintage mall
- Crystal necklace - FAC Fifth Avenue Collection
The kittens hung out at the party for a little while - including Barnabas going full tummy-rub with a circle of people! - then mostly left us to our devices.
I love Whateley's foot just laying on his brother's leg.Barnabas seems unbothered by it.
They aren't fazed by much.

After 10:30pm, I slipped off into my closet, and changed into my Mrs. Roper caftan.
This seemed like the appropriate way to end the evening.
When you have a caftan, you can't just save it for the pool parties, though - you need to wear it!
More outfit inspection.
I felt wonderfully cool in this and wafted around, dancing and carousing until the wee hours.
I kicked the shoes off at some point. - Bakelite cuff - vintage 50s, vintage mall, gift from L
- Yellow cuff - thrifted
- Steel/Lucite ring - Calvin Klein, thrifted
- Silver/crystal ring - Soul Flower
- Earrings - vintage 80s, thrifted, Sidney; purchased here for $8.00
We had a lovely party - missed some of our folks who were out of town or not feeling well, including our usual photographer (Randall) - but the only pictures are these:
Whateley going full splay mode! What a weirdo.
And while neither of them even tried to go after the food, they were aware of it sitting out.
Do you see the eyes at the end of the table? Barnabas sat on the stool and surveyed! And now, back to Real Life! I do not want to go to work tomorrow...
Thanks so much, as always, for being here - I so appreciate your comments and thoughts!
