Brick Red and Velvet Floral Tulle

Hello, my friends! I had this outfit waiting in the wings for a day when I'd be tired.
Those mid-week outings can be tiring!

  • Cotton blazer - Club Monaco menswear, thrifted; purchased here for $14.95
  • Silk top - Gray by Jason Wu, thrifted; last seen here in August 2025 as a backdrop for copper
  • Tulle and flocked velvet floral skirt - no label, consignment; last worn here in March with a sporty jacket
  • Shoes - Super Fine Cardinal, Fluevog; last seen here in January with my teal suit

I paired this brick red ("it looks orange" said my colleague over a Teams call) blazer with this lovely tulle skirt.
I never need an excuse to wear a tulle skirt! The black floral is actually flocked velvet.

I really liked having all six pockets in the jacket.
I used four of them!

I was sweaty when I got to my desk - stairs, briskly walking in the chilly wind.
I like the "mullet" hem of this silk top, which nicely covers the plain elastic waist of the skirt.

Incognito.
I was glad of my massive silk scarf in the morning, but shoved it into my bag on the walk home.

The stuff:
My faithful gold shoes shining in the evening light.

  • Silk scarf - Alexander McQueen, consignment, gift from L
  • Brooch - consignment

Bold bling:
I like wearing Mom's stuff - this is her choker, made from sandalwood and some other stone.

  • Carved faux cinnabar bangle - consignment
  • Stone bangle - consignment
  • Choker - Mom's, vintage 70s
  • Earrings - Martha Sturdy, vintage fair
  • Wooden Klimt ring - consignment
  • Amber ring - c. 1996

The kittens were full of beans when I got home.
"Throw the ball!"       "Play or I will knock over the garbage can."

They chased the ball - Barnabas brought it back - and then we looked out the bedroom window together, just like Vizzini and I used to do.
"You look sad."     "We give good cuddles!"

I still miss our old kitty - it's been over a year now. But I'm so happy to have these two lovely boys.
