That's why I do the backwards hangers - every time I wear this, I'm reminded how lovely it is.
- Sparkly turtleneck - Jacob, thrifted; last worn here in March under Emerald Armour
- Cotton dress - Kenzo, consignment; last seen here almost exactly a year ago in September 2024
- Shoes - Vogettes Pina, Fluevog; last worn here (2nd outfit) in June for lunch with Mom for L's birthday
- Leather-trimmed jacket - Helmut Lang, vintage 00s, thrifted; last seen here in July
Passing over it again and again...and yet, I don't want to get rid of it.
It's not a Jammy Dress, which makes it a bit harder to style in a way that is novel to me - I love "new" things, and new combinations, and there are only so many ways to wear this dress.
I have worn it with this sparkly turtleneck before, but not the shoes. It really only works with black or brown/caramel accessories, which I have a lot of, but still...
Showing off the not-pockets. These are flaps of fabric that give the front of it two points at the hem. The neckline is done up with three "cufflink" style buttons - I've played with it a few times and it looks best like this.
I adore the textile, which is cotton. It has a built-in white lining, also cotton. Such high quality (the dress is made in Germany).
I've always thought this was a somewhat gloomy print. It reminds me of rain, wet streets, dark days and...Cinderella in her dress for sweeping out the ashes. All that fine cotton (it's handkerchief weight) means Cotton Rage, cousin of Velvet Rage could appear, so I had to wear a slip on the bottom to keep it from riding up against my nylons while I walked to and from work.
I added the black jacket as a nod to autumn. I also needed the pockets.

- Belt - gift from Ruth
A thick-ish belt is required to tuck all the extra fabric into, as the top half of of the dress is very oversized and saggy-looking with a skinny belt.
Silver bling:
And one steel.
I can tell I'm feeling worn out - I forgot a necklace and I neglected to brooch the jacket.
And one steel.
