I was inspired by yesterday's space theme to continue it today, and also to finally incorporate my new-to-me Issey Miyake ("start the car!") jacket into an outfit.
It was absolutely lovely to wear, oh my gosh. I see why people swoon over his creations.
- Jacket - Issey Miyake, consignment, Sidney; purchased here for $168.00
- Mesh top - Jean Paul Gaultier, vintage 90s, consignment; last worn here in February under a Junya Watanabe dress
- Skirt - Acqua & Limone, consignment; last seen here (3rd outfit) in August 2024 for a haircut
- Shoes - MJUS, consignment; last worn here in February in the same outfit as the mesh top
We haven't had a Castle view for a while.
Back to the outfit.
Everyone in the office noticed it and wanted to check it out - I pulled and stretched it for them, showing off the complex pleating and construction.
I layered my "cosmic" patterned mesh JPG top, and scrunched the arms up to show the sleeve pattern.
The jacket was pleasant to wear, with a bit of weight, so the collar and the hem swung around a bit. It was warmer than I thought it would be.I love the cocoon shape of the skirt, and how the jacket complements it.
The length of the hem shows off the ankles and the shiny blue shoes.
Without the jacket, which I took off when I first arrived at the office.
It's office pajamas! The jacket done up, with the button restored to its proper position.
I only wore it buttoned while walking to and from work. I might try the jacket belted - it has possibilities. It was fun to play around with it.Accoutrements and stuff:
Galactic bling:
Swirly giant pendant.
These shoes are such a vibrant metallic blue, and a very futuristic shape.
- Scarf - Givenchy, consignment, gift from L
Swirly giant pendant.
- Steel cuff - thrifted
- Filigree cuff - St. Paul's Cathedral gift shop, London
- Silver chain ring - Mexican, consignment
- Silver/crystal ring - Soul Flower
- White gold hoops - Frances Jewelers, 10th anniversary gift from L
- Pendant - Miracle, consignment
Ooh love the shape of the jacket (especially when it is done up) and the shoes, and the bold cuffs! Cool! Lise
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Lise!
DeleteA delightful combination of cozy (aka your description - office pajamas) and funky thanks to the jacket and shoes. I’d love to see the jacket with a bright top underneath to highlight the jacket. Although to be fair, I just went and enlarged the stair picture and doing so let me ooo and ahhh more fully over the jacket. :) Also love your filigree bracelet!
ReplyDeleteCheers, Laurie
I'll wear the jacket with other stuff eventually - and as you discovered, it's best close-up. The pleating makes it look fuzzy in pictures. Such a fun piece. Thanks so much, Laurie!
DeleteHow lovely to see the Castle again!
ReplyDeleteAs for your Issey Miyake jacket, what a stunning piece it is. I'm swooning!
Also loving the cosmic patterned top and those shiny blue shoes! xxx
I've been remiss in taking pics of it! Thank you so much, Ann!
