A Lot of Neon and Leopard

I reached for bright colours today to lift myself mentally, but I will admit, even for me this a lot.
I actually love the orange added to this palette, but the top and the bottom together is just a bit much.

  • Sweater - Blue Sky, thrifted, Sidney; purchased here for $7.00
  • Shirt - Rock & Republic, thrifted; last worn here in May 2024 with these same trousers
  • Trousers - Gorman, consignment; last seen here in January with more neon plus black
  • Shoes - Go Groovy Aubrey, Fluevog; last worn here for a Mom-Day at Bowker Creek in February

I would totally do the top half again...with my white jeans or a flowy neutral bottom.
And the orange shoes with the neon leopard trousers would be great with a white shirt and orange accessories.

Ah, well, that's part of growing and learning. You have to TRY!
And sometimes it's a miss. They can't all be winners.

This is the first wearing of the blue sweater and it was...fine. It's Limbo-bound as well.
I wore a camisole with shoulder pads to give it a bit of structure but it's not a colour that really works with my closet.

Incognito.
I'm sure I burned out a few retinas on my way to/from work, hee hee.

The stuff:
These shoes are super comfy so I walked both ways in them. I wore little sheer blue floral socks.

Bold bling:
The vintage necklace is off to Accessory Limbo - it's cool but it's not me.

  • Necklace - vintage 60s, thrifted, Sidney; purchased here for $4.00
  • Stretchy stone cuff - thrifted, Sidney
  • Plastic cuff/ring - vintage 60s, Italian, vintage mall
  • Silver/turquoise ring - Glee
  • Silver/turquoise earrings - consignment

Tomorrow is another day!

  3. I really love the all the neon and bright colours in this styling. But I understand what you mean. If it felt like it was too much, then you can just wear it differently. What matters is how it feels to you. If you want to try wearing these pieces separately with more 'neutral' items, I can see that working perfectly as well.
Sometimes we have to push ourselves a bit with fashion to see what works for us and what doesn't.

    1. Thank you, Ivana! I do think I prefer more of a balance with neutrals these days. Exactly! We keep pushing - and in the end, it's just an outfit!

  5. Okay, so yes, the color combos are a big large BUT I love them! It's raining here and tomorrow it is predicted to rain all day long, so bring on the color, bold and bright! Agreeing 100% with the comment by Polyester Princess and the ones by Michelle O and Vix. :-)

  6. It’s bright, but I love these colors! I also totally get why it didn’t work for you; when color is no longer armor and instead becomes something that you need to buoy: nope. Batteries not included!
Your “re-toned” styling ideas sound like the perfect solution to keeping things bright but not requiring an external power source, ha-ha. Thank you for perking up my day! ReaderRita

  8. I also love the orange colour added to this palette, and love particularly those shoes and the fabulous leopard print!. Even if you finally felt it was too much, that's a lovely combo, and totally vitaminic!. Totally agree about trying it and also about burning some retinas!, Colour Rocks!
