I put on my "profesh" armour today - my colleagues on Teams loved it.
Especially the bigass rose!

I'm happy to have this orange blazer back in my closet - I missed it in the fall/winter.
This peach leopard skirt always draws me in - it's thick and swooshy, and despite the visible white reverse in the Stair Pic, I love it.
For those who read, the book we discussed last night at Book Club was “The Measure” by Nikki Erlick. Five out of 6 disliked it; one loved it (and it wasn't me), so go figure. Our next book is "The Parable of the Sower" by Octavia Butler.
I always feel weird wearing tights with open-toed sandals. It was so Not Done when I was younger, it always feels wrong to me.
I'm getting over it.

A solid outfit overall.
I took the blazer off briefly after arriving at my floor. Stairs! Sweaty!
I layered a vintage slip for extra warmth. Done up, but I only did this when my coat was on.
I prefer it open when sitting at my desk.
Incognito.
The stuff:
I ran an errand during the day - these shoes are so good for walking. They're barely an inch heel.

This sleeveless coat works well at this time of year, and the big shawl collar didn't squish the rose brooch.
Accoutrements:
Long gloves so I could leave the blazer's sleeves rolled.

- Leather gloves - Echo, consignment

Golden bling:
I safety-pinned the top petal of the brooch to my lapel to keep it from flopping around. I'm a genius!

Peach is a color I can't wear, but I'm discovering orange is one I definitely can! I love how you put these two together. They're so purrfect together! And, you have spoiled me for anything that has that white side to it! I have a couple of things that I'm thinking of purging because I just can't unsee it! Love those shoes, too! I think I need something like that again (the last time I had platforms like that was in 1975!).

Fabulous sandals! For me it's the opposite, I always feel weird wearing closed shoes in summer except for sneakers.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I must be a genius too, as I've been using the safety pin trick as well :-)
ReplyDeleteLoving the outfit, and I definitely get why you love the skirt in spite of the visible white reverse!
I haven't worn tights with sandals, but I love the idea and the look. I might very well adopt it as I'm getting fed up with my (ankle) boots but I'm not ready for bare legs and feet yet. xxx
Thanks for the mention of the books! I seem to recall the host is usually the same person who suggests the book being discussed, yes? If so, no need to ask my next question. ;)
ReplyDeleteAs for your outfit, your sartorial skills are on a roll this week! Each outfit has been, to my eye, a winner. I love the colors, shoes, proportions, drape, jewelry, accessories and sleeveless coat of today’s outfit, every piece is perfectly coupled with every other piece. Lovely and definitely profesh with pizzazz. :)
You may smile to read that I started Grand Jury Duty yesterday and I wore a dress (the only person not in pants of the 23 of us!) Taking my inspiration from you!!
Cheers, Laurie
I've passed my white reverse phobia on to Liz, we've both started recoiling in horror and yelling "white reverse" at each other when we're charity shopping together! Its a fab skirt when i look past that first photo. I went out with bare legs and clogs this morning...yay! xxx
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to style a leopard skirt. I really like your big orange rose as well. Fab orange blazer. The outfit feels so well pull together. I love those platforms!
