I built this outfit around this new-to-me vintage skirt, picked up at the thrift store for a song.
I loved wearing it all day, admiring its swoosh and the perfect length.
I prefer my skirts on the long side. It did not get caught in my chair wheels - victory!
The grey sweater is a wool blend, with a wide neck, body and sleeves, offset by the wide cuffs and hem.
Chunky sweaters and I don't usually get along, but this one works. I like how the loopy belt lays; it stayed in place nicely.
Incognito. This leather trenchcoat has been with me...oh, it has to be 10 years at least. I didn't always post my outerwear early on in the blog, so my first few wearings weren't tracked.
I counted back to 2017 just now and got 73 wearings before I ran out of links! I actually FOUND the post where I bought it, and I was correct - it was bought here in January 2014...and I paid $18.50 for it. I'm boggled.
I'm totally cheating, having left my bag o' shoes at the office (d'oh!). This picture is from when I first bought these shoes back here in July 2021. That feels very long ago.
The stuff I remembered to wear home!
A bunch of coworkers were in the office for a month-end event, and I was so happy to see my sweet colleague Kirill - he gave me this print, brought all the way from the Czech Republic.
It's from the "Small Cityscapes of Prague" series of prints, sold mostly as souvenirs. It's small, about 4 x 4", not including the wooden frame.
I love how it looks with the long skirt. I felt so chic, striding down the sidewalk in this.
Accoutrements:
Skulls! This is just a cheapy polyester scarf, but the years do roll on. This was a 39th birthday purchase for myself, while on vacation in San Francisco.

It's by Alexandra Obrovska - I found an auction listing here (link 'cause I love, you'll need to translate) for one of her original paintings, and which has a history of her work.
Prodejni Galerie is where Kirill bought it. He and I often had deep conversations at the end of the day in the lunchroom while I refilled the coffee machines and tea supplies, back in the Before Times (pre-pandemic). What a lovely treasure from one of my favourite coworkers.

ReplyDeleteThe day might have begun with a case of the greys but between the fall colors of the Chevrons and the vibrancy of the print with the world it conjures sounds like the greys were outnumbered! I especially like the bronze ring and the hinged lucite earrings, the first for its color and the second for its visual lines - perfect lines to accessorize a Chevron pattern.
