NAS, Snakes and Roses

Welcome back to normal office clothes, my friends! 

"Please, Woman, your outfits are never normal."

It's hard to switch gears after being a vampire this weekend (if you missed it, go here). Sometimes you need a hard turn back to reality. 

• Blazer - Jacob, thrifted; purchased here for $5.50
• Bodysuit - Nylon Apparel, consignment; purchased here for $32.00
• Cashmere skirt - John Laing for N. Peal, vintage, vintage fair; last worn here in December 2023 for some Christmas shopping
• Wool NAS (not-a-skirt) - Derek Lam 10 Crosby, thrifted; last seen here in February with pinstriped pants and vest
• Shoes - Big Presence Desmond, Fluevog; last worn here in September with a profesh skirt and a drapey top
• Suede coat (below) - Tadmor, vintage 70s, vintage mall; last seen here in April

Today's outfit is one of the last of the pre-planned outfits - I need to have another play session this weekend to make more.

I'd had this full outfit in my mind after finding this cow-print mesh bodysuit, pairing it with this grey Upgraded blazer and this red cashmere skirt, plus these snakeskin print shoes. 

What I hadn't planned was adding my NAS (not-a-skirt). I'd waffled on keeping it in my closet but it's such an unusual piece and it doesn't take up much room. It's pinstriped wool, and it even has pockets! 

I'm happy with this Jacob, Canadian-made blazer, which replaces my old Vivienne Westwood Red Label wool one...which was SO beautiful and so precious to me. 

You wouldn't think this would be an Upgrade, but the Westwood one had been attacked by moths, and frankly, did not fit me anymore. Finding one in a similar cut, made in Canada, cheap as borscht, and fits me? Yes, that is an Upgrade.

I liked the bodysuit - I have a camisole layered under it. 

The red skirt is thick and lush and is 100% Scottish-made cashmere, very soft and soothing.

Outerwear. I thought it would be too dark to need my sunglasses, and regretted it. 

I adore this suede coat - it's such a high quality vintage piece. I love getting reacquainted with my leathers and suedes, most of which haven't been worn since the spring. It's Leather Weather! 

Accoutrements: 

A third new-to-me item, this small silk scarf is going into my spring/summer wardrobe. It's not for warmth - it wants to be worn at jaunty angle, and my cold-weather wardrobe...is not jaunty.
