Red Dress and Warhol Boots

Well, that weekend went far too fast - Monday is upon us! Today is Red Dress Day, so I wore a red dress.
All this colour felt wonderful.

  • Silk dress - Diane Von Furstenberg, consignment; last worn here in May 2024 with the same boots
  • Boots - Warhol F-Trip, Fluevog; last seen here (2nd outfit) in January with a Pop art cardigan to see the Art Gallery exhibit with Betty
  • Coat (below) - L'Atiste, consignment, Vancouver; last worn here in April

This dress is such a simple cut, but is so easy to wear.
My only complaint is the lack of pockets.

It's a light stretchy silk weave.
I have a camisole and wee shorts under it.

The surprise back - rock on!
I like the brass snaps, two of which are undone so I can stride about. The boots are practically normal from this view.

Incognito.
This coat was a little heavy on the way home, should've worn a blazer!

Accoutrements:
I love these orange gloves.

  • Silk scarf - Metropolitan Museum of Art, thrifted
  • Leather gloves - consignment

The stuff:
Amazing boots! I walked to work in these and bused home - they're very comfy.

Orange bling:
I rescued the necklace from the accessory Limbo - I missed it (but not the not-quite-matching earrings).

  • Necklace - Monet, vintage 80s, vintage fair
  • Orange bangle - consignment, Sidney
  • Lucite/steel ring - Calvin Klein, thrifted
  • Orange plastic cuff/ring - Italian, vintage 60s, vintage mall
  • Wooden earrings - vintage expo

  1. Am glad you rescued the necklace, it’s a bold statement piece that shines against the backdrop of the red. The dress is almost a perfect jammy dress, except for the lack of pockets. I like how the front provides a canvass for accessorizing and the back provides visual interest of its own. I’ve been reading your blog for many years so knew what Red Dress Day symbolized before clicking on the link. I hope you saw lots of people dressed in red.
We are planning on venturing into the city today to walk around The American Museum of Natural History and the NY Historical Society across the street. It’s been years since we set foot in a city museum so here’s hoping we actually follow through!
    Cheers, Laurie

    1. I am too, Laurie - and this is a good example of why I don't immediately donate anything! I change my mind!
I do love the dress, and it's such a great colour. I wish there had been more folks in red, but at least the exposure about it was there.
Oh, that sounds so lovely! I hope you had a great time! I love museums (esp. natural history ones).

  6. Lovely red dress and fabulous accessorizing (love how that rescued necklace matches those boots, that's Gorgeous!). Glad to read about Red Dress Day, which is such a moving event (always great when women are remembered, particularly those who were silenced).
