Two-Fer: Floral and Swooshy for Office and a Golden Prince; Jammy S-Dress

L and I had a mid-week event to go to on Tuesday night - a concert at the Royal Theatre, how posh! - and got home really late, so as warned, this post has multiple outfits. It's a Two-Fer Tuesday, AND Wednesday's work outfit.

This is what I wore to work, planned around this newly-thrifted sparkly blue top.

  • Embroidered denim jacket - Paparazzi, thrifted, Vancouver; last seen here in December 2025 with pink pants
  • Sleeveless sparkly top - Nygard, thrifted; purchased here for $8.00
  • Silk skirt - Essentiel Antwerp, consignment, Powell River; last worn here in December 2025 with a piratical leather top
  • Shoes - Super Fine Eminence, Fluevog; last seen here in October 2025, the day we brought our kittens home

I layered it under my embroidered denim jacket, which has to be one of my favourite pieces in my entire closet. It goes with everything!
"I approve!"

It's even better since I discovered the super-hidden pockets!

I layered a gold fish belt over the blue knit, with the hem of the top over the skirt.
"I could go under there!"

The silk skirt has a very low waist.

Another gawk at this gorgeous piece.
I love this swooshy skirt too! It billows when I walk.

I liked the top - it's a great colour.
The mostly silk composition felt great on, and it kept me warm.

Incognito. I did not need to wear a coat over this ensemble.
A few snuggly accoutrements and I was good. It helps that I walk very briskly.

The stuff:
The shoes didn't match...but they did go!

  • Angora beret - Parkhurst, thrifted
  • Bug pin - Le Chateau, c. 1999
  • Scarf - Vera, vintage 80s, Mom's
  • Gloves - thrifted

Golden bling:
I'd planned on leaving all of this on, but by the time I got home, I was a bit frazzled and a bit sweaty.

  • Fish belt - consignment
  • Gold-tone bangle - thrifted
  • Hinged eelskin bangle - vintage 80s, thrifted
  • Earrings - Betsey Johnson, swap from Cat
  • Silver/kyanite ring - consignment
  • Wooden Klimt ring - consignment
  • Silver/green stone ring - thrifted
  • Necklace - D'Orlan, vintage 60s, thrifted

Just time for a quick picture of the kittens, sitting on L's boxes (he's moving offices at work).
The intercom coil was not safe from them, so I was happy that another box went back to L's work on Wednesday morning.

I changed into my Eames chairs t-shirt, and swapped out my Fluevogs for a pair of Weird Adidas, which were much better for walking to and from the theatre.
I carried all my stuff in my purse, then changed up the accessories because the skirt needed a belt!

  • Eames chair tee - SPRZNY, thrifted; last seen here in December 2025 on Christmas Day
  • Sneakers (below) - Adidas X James Harden, consignment; last worn here in January with a Kenzo tiger

It's nearly the same outfit.
And it was just a bit more comfortable for enjoying a show.

The stuff:
Only the shoes changed!

Silvery bling:
Only two rings remained from the original outfit.

  • Leather purse - vintage 80s, thrifted
  • Silver/gold bracelet - JLP, vintage fair
  • Silver/turquoise bracelet - consignment
  • Silver/turquoise ring - consignment
  • Silver/kyanite ring - consignment
  • Silver/green stone ring - thrifted
  • Earrings - Chan Luu, consignment
  • Belt - Mudd, vintage 90s, thrifted
  • Silver/onyx necklace - Mexican, consignment, Powell River

We went to see William Prince, who we'd seen at Rifflandia (here, picture of the stage here), and were thrilled to find out that Boy Golden (seen at a little club show here in October 2023) was opening for him. Boy Golden has enjoyed some radio success with a single ("Suffer") off his new album (link here, all links 'cause I love!).

What a fabulous double-bill! L and I walked to town, grabbed a couple of slices of pizza at the Brickyard, then strolled over to the Royal Theatre, just in time for the doors to open.
I've been going to shows here since the early 70s, when Mom used to take Dave and I to see Disney movies (it showed films then, doesn't anymore).

The Royal underwent a restoration when they added the side lobby wings.
Gorgeous carved details.

I have always liked the faces at the bottom of the windows.
Their noses were all broken off prior to the restoration.

Me and my guy, waiting to go in.
Both L and I got a ton of compliments on our outfits, especially all that embroidery. A shout-out to Coulee, who we met while people-watching in the lobby area. So nice to meet you!

L and I had awesome seats, only 10 rows from the stage, and an unimpeded view (we were at a row break, so had a big gap for stretching our legs - it's like I planned it).
Boy Golden was absolutely excellent. Roots rock/folk music, but mostly just plain fun. He's a Manitoba guy!

We chatted with the folks on my side (hello to Maureen and Bob!) who were massive fans of William Prince - they'd seen him 7 times!
Check out William Prince's music here, via his site.

He's also a roots-rock musician from the Cree Nation, also from Manitoba.
He has a gorgeous, warm, rumbly voice.

I found myself tearing up a few times - he was very appreciative, in general.
They played until 10:30pm.

But of course, there was an encore.
One solo song ("Goldie Hawn") and then the band came back for the big finale.

We walked home along dark streets at 11pm. It was a full moon - a "blood moon" - so we did a selfie with it.
Ooh! The moon!

I woke up very tired on Wednesday, glad that I'd opted for a Jammy Dress.
My S-Dress got some much-needed moth-hole repairs a few months ago, and I'm finally getting around to wearing it again.

  • Wool-blend dress - Uniqlo X Marimekko, thrifted; last seen here (3rd outfit) in November 2024 for a shop at Turnabout with Rosanna
  • Leather boots - Bandolino, vintage 80s, thrifted, Sidney; last worn here (2nd outfit) in September 2025 for a park hangout with our pals
  • Leather coat (below) - Jeno de Paris, vintage 70s, thrifted; last seen here in January

I layered tights and a vintage slip for magical smoothing purposes.
Dress, boots, bam, done. "S for super!" said my colleague Aaron.

It's impactful without me having to do anything.
It doesn't have pockets, but it's comfy and I feel awesome in it.

Incognito! I had to stuff all of my hair into the beret on the way to work, as it was pouring rain.
It was windy, but sunny on the way home. Ah, it's nearly spring!

As you can tell, I always have company when I'm doing my pictures.

The stuff:
And aren't the boots a perfect match?

  • Belt - gift from Ruth, c. 2007
  • Wool beret - consignment
  • Silk scarf - Fluevog
  • Leather gloves - Danier Leather

Minimal bling:
I forgot my rings! It felt weird.

  • Hinged eelskin bangle - vintage 80s, thrifted
  • Lucite/gold bracelet - Alexis Bittar, consignment, gift from L
  • Earrings - Kate Spade, consignment
  • Necklace - Club Monaco, c. 2008

L was able to amalgamate some of his office stuff down to fewer boxes, leaving us with...a leftover box. Whatever shall we do with it?
"I'm hiding!"          "I accept this excellent offering."

The boys have been cute a heck, playing in, on, around and beside the box, so expect many "Box Cat" pictures in the future.
"Whateley's in the box!"         "This is true, Barnabas.'

Just when I thought they couldn't get any cuter!
