Yellow, Pink and Gold for Book Club Holiday Dinner

Hello, my friends! I'm a little late due to our annual Book Club Holiday Dinner, but I'm sure you won't mind as my outfit is very colourful and happy-making!
As I mentally noted when I bought this top last weekend, I can totally make it almost-winter-appropriate just by layering a top under it!

  • Silk blend top - Marni, consignment; purchased here for $52.50
  • Sparkly turtleneck - Jacob, thrifted; last seen here (2nd outfit) a week or so ago, layered under silk
  • Skirt - St. John, thrifted; first worn here in December 2024 with gold lace and black suede
  • Boots - Mellow Bebop, Fluevog; last seen here (2nd outfit) in October with regret-me-nots
  • Leather coat (below) - Jeno de Paris, vintage 70s, thrifted; last worn here for a Mom-Day in March
I loved it like this, with the hem hanging down over the pink wool-blend skirt.
You can't see it here, but I have black tights on to echo the black turtleneck - the skirt has a high side-slit for walking.

These are distinctly non-seasonal colours!
And yet, it's still fancy enough.

The offset "fin" in the back.
The skirt is a lovely stretchy knit in my favourite shade of strawberry ice cream pink.

And then I went Full Elf!
I had to pick something in case it rained even more torrentially - we had massive storms and dumps of rain all night.

The stuff:
I was so pleased at how well this scarf picked up all the colours!

  • Wool beret - Parkhurst, consignment
  • Large tree pin - Keyes, gift from Ev, c. 1989
  • Small tree pin - Avon
  • Silk scarf - Yves Saint Laurent, vintage 80s, thrifted
  • Leather gloves - Echo, consignment
  • Belt - gift from Ruth, c. 2007

I walked to work in the boots, then strolled over to Zambri's in the evening to join my lovely big Book Club for our annual Holiday Dinner.

Gold bling:
The double necklace worked well.

  • Short necklace - Givenchy, vintage 80s, vintage fair
  • Gold-tone bangle - thrifted
  • Pink stone gold-tone cuff - D'Orlan, vintage 70s, vintage mall, gift from L
  • Brass Brutalist ring - vintage mall
  • Gold/amethyst ring - Frances Jewelers, c. 1965, Dad's
  • Earrings - Kate Spade, consignment
  • Long pewter/gold-plated necklace - Robert Larin, vintage 70s, vintage mall, gift from L

I took a selfie inside while I waited for the restaurant to open.
We had a delicious dinner, but it was very busy and we had a long table, so we couldn't hear each other talk.

So after our meal, we moved out to one of the tables in the Atrium and discussed our previous book (Blob: A Love Story by Maggie Su - we all felt rather "meh" about it.
From me, clockwise: Jennifer, Caro, Yvonne, Rosanna, Mindy, Ciara and Cat. Love you all!

Leaving you with two very snoozy kittens.
Whateley, keeping me company on the desk (I'm never getting that cashmere scarf back).

And Barnabas on the chair behind me.
Very sweet...when they're sleeping!
