Olive, Grape and a Cape (and Kittens)

Today was a very long day, capped off with a company meeting that ran nearly an hour over, meaning I got home to two ravenous kittens!
Ooh, that morning light is not cooperating...

  • Mesh top - Soya Concept, consignment; last seen here in August under black linen
  • Wool blend dress - Benetton, thrifted; purchased here for $24.95
  • Shoes - Wonders Ayers, Fluevog; last worn here in January with shades of red and olive
  • Wool cape - Coracle Clothes, Welsh, vintage 60s, pass-along from Sheila A; last seen here a year ago in September 2024 for Mom-Day at Rithet's Bog

This is the Benetton dress I picked up last Thursday - I layered a purple and olive blend mesh top under it.
I wear most of my short shirts and dresses in the fall/winter so that I can wear them with tights.

No fear, I have wee shorts on under there.
This dress was ultra-comfortable. And look, I have matching grape tights!

Wonderful big pockets.
I took my cue from the mesh top and mixed olives and brass tones with it.

It's Cape Weather!
"What's going on here? What are you doing?"

I carried a big purse today and bused home. I love wearing my capes, but they're very tricky weather-wise.

Accoutrements:
All the purple!

  • Leather purse - Sonia Rykiel, vintage 90s, thrifted
  • Mulberry silk scarf - Fluevog
  • Brooch - Frank Turner merch
  • Wool beret - consignment
  • Leather gloves - Danier Leather

Olive stuff:
I love olive and grape together.

  • Brass "nest" cuff - Midzo, vintage mall
  • Green stone bracelet - vintage mall
  • Necklace - Plum, c. 2004
  • Brutalist brass rings - both vintage mall
  • Earrings - thrifted

I was running up and down flights of stairs, setting things up for a big pizza party. Comfy shoes needed!

The boys have discovered the laundry basket and how much fun it is to play in it.
"Barnabas, where are you?"       "Heh heh, dumb Whateley."

And then...
"I see you!"     "And I'm whacking your head!"

Such little scamps! And then they are completely CUTE.
"Did I ever tell you I was a cat on a sailing ship in a past life?"

NO!
