Pleated Blossoms and Pink Velvet

Welcome back, my friends! I knew I'd need some super-duper armour for going back to work after so many days off. Blossom time!
I always try to wear this skirt in spring, when the pink cherry and plum blossoms are out. It's such a happy piece.

  • Blazer - Moda International, thrifted; last seen here in August 2024 with picnic plaid
  • Sleeveless shirt - Eddie Bauer, consignment; last worn here in January under a thousand-dollar sweater
  • Skirt - BCBG Max Azria, consignment; last seen here (3rd outfit) for a Mom-Day in May 2024
  • Shoes - Sol Sana; last worn here in July 2024 with a blue Jammy dress

Nothing in this outfit is new - the most "new to me" is the blazer, thrifted 2 years ago. Seems like just a month or so...where does the time go?
"A bird!"

A little bird grabbed onto the window just as the timer went off.

I liked the ultra-flowy pleated skirt with the tailored jacket.
I swished and swirled for a few of my colleagues.

It's a feat of wrangled with the office chair and the toilet, however.
Ascending stairs is also a challenge.

Without the blazer, which I didn't take off.
I never thought a pink sleeveless shirt would be such a workhorse for me, but it goes with everything!

Incognito and peeved that I do not have a single pocket in this outfit! OUTRAGEOUS.
I do not like tucking my mp3 player into my hosiery waistband.

Accoutrements:
I'd forgotten how soft this pashmina is.

  • Cashmere/silk scarf - Portolano, thrifted
  • Leather gloves - consignment

The stuff:
Coworker Jessica gasped over these velvet beauties. They are a very useful colour and profesh for the office (I wanted to wear my sequined sneakers!).

Crystal bling:
I forgot to fetch my rings for the Stuff pic - I have to remove them to wear gloves or they snag the lining.

  • Green crystal bracelet - vintage 60s, Mom's
  • Gold/pink bracelet - D'Orlan, vintage 60s, vintage mall, gift from L
  • Crystal necklace/earrings - Sherman, vintage 50s, vintage fair
  • Crystal brooch - vintage 60s, Gram S's
  • Coral/olivine ring - Hawaii, c. 1977, Mom's
  • Sparkly cocktail ring - vintage 70s, Mom's

The gold cuff is the most "recent" acquisition, also around 2 years old.

  1. Great minds…. ;) I immediately thought of all the blossoms in your neighborhood and surrounding area thanks to the skirt pattern and pink top! The juxtaposition of the tailored jacket (love the fit, length and pattern) with the floral swooshy skirt makes me smile - they play nicely with each other. :) Thanks for all your replies on my recent comments. We had a nice Easter weekend though greatly missed our family on Sunday. Yay for pictures from Brussels and texts from Olympia!
    Cheers, Laurie

    1. The skirt always evokes the pink blossoms! I'm glad you had a good Easter, even if you weren't physically with your fam, Laurie! I was sending good vibes!

  2. I really like this outfit, even if there are no pockets. The maxi skirt with that abstract floral pattern is simply perfect for spring. It evokes the blossoms in nature. I like the pink shirt and the white blazer as well. Lovely pink velvet shoes. Very profesh as you say. :)
I also really like your pink and green jewellery. The pink crystal necklace set is stunning.
Mom's green vintage pieces (bracelet, rings) are beautiful!

  3. A gorgeous outfit, beautifully accessorised and modelled!
The shade of pink and sheen of the fabric of that top,
and the print and fabric of the skirt both look very pretty.
The complete accessorised OOTD looks fabulous,
and you look like an incognito movie star modelling it.

  5. You're a vision of spring, Sheila, and very welcome indeed on this grey and rainy day here in Belgium! The skirt is gorgeous, although I am definitely hearing you on the office chair and toilet issues :-) Such a shame about the pockets, though! xxx

  6. That skirt couldn't be more spring-like although I do worry about it tripping you up - been there, done that! xxx
