Tangerine Velvet and Last-Minute Leopard

Back to work after a long weekend...and my outfit was all about soft textures and comfort.
I'm not keeping the top - off to Limbo it goes!

  • Top - Free People X CP Shades, consignment; purchased here for $16.00
  • Trousers - Seductive Pants, consignment; last worn here in September 2023 with my big blue cardi
  • Shoes - Groovy Aubrey, Fluevog; last seen here in June with Marni and Ungaro

Demonstrating the pockets in it. They were not useful (my work phone kept falling out), and were hard to get at to stuff my hands in, because....
...the bottom of the top twisted around my hips/waist, so the pockets migrated. Velvet Rage! Noooo!

I'm very sad, as I adore the colour - such a rich tangerine - and the fabric, which is a sumptuous kitten-soft velvet. I'll get over it.
I'd had a different bottom planned and switched to these leopard stretchy pants at the last minute in the morning. I hope you noted the brand - it always makes me giggled. Seductive!

They have a cobalt "racing stripe" down the sides, and hidden zip pockets in the front.
And a pull-on wide elastic waist - no messing with zippers. Just perfect for my day.

Incognito. None of my scarves inspired me.
I don't like wearing sunblock (it gets on the clothes!), but I only walked one way today. Carrying a flat of cat food throws my back and shoulder out of whack, so I took the bus home.

The stuff:
Heavenly comfy shoes. These have been one of my best shoe purchases in the last several years.

Sparkly bling:
With a side of orange.

  • Necklace - Stella & Dot, thrifted
  • Crystal cuff - Swarovski, consignment, gift from L
  • Plastic cuff/ring - Italian, vintage 60s, vintage mall
  • Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes
  • Earrings - thrifted, Seattle

  1. Those trousers are super cool! Isn't a leopard print always, at least in my eyes. Pity about the top.

  2. What a shame about the top, but we can't have Velvet Rage and migrating pockets, can we? The Seductive Pants were perfect with it, though, as were those fabulous shoes! xxx

  3. I'm sure you'll get over it, you have a great eye and always buy or thrift amazing stuff. You'll find a worthy replacement for that top...one with pockets that will fit your work phone.
It's such a relief for me being able to leave my phone unchecked for hours on end...a bliss. I sometimes wish phones were not invented at all.
Anyway, love the leopard pants...and the shoes are amazing! You look fantastic!

  5. The tangerine orange top is a one and done, though it does seem to match perfectly with your shoes. Ah well, it's a big world of second hand clothing and there is always the thrill of the search as you keep your eyes peeled for a replacement in a similar color. I chuckled this morning while trying to place my phone in one of the pockets of my shorts. Finally found a satisfactory location but did wonder if leg movement would end of prying the phone out. My chuckle was in wondering if the shorts were marketed before cell phones were ubiquitous. (I hold on to my shorts for a very long time!)

Still enjoying the residue of your Bigass Weekend Wrap-Up. :-)
    Cheers, Laurie
